Not sure whether it is me or something else. I have strung my T2 with Zymax62 twice. The strings are excellent in terms of power and feel and I note that on MkII strings they have rougher feeling some sort like BG80 texture. The issue that I am facing with the string is that some how it loses its crispness after few sessions of hard smashing. Even with the MkII I am still facing the same issue. Don't feel like the string lost any tension though but the crispness feeling is just not there anymore. In the end, I just have to cut the strings. Other information is that it was strung for about 2 months and I only play on weekends with a total playtime of 6 hours a week. I don't think that this is a stringer issue as I have been going to the same stringer where the stringing is excellent. Zymax62 at 21lbs ECP that feels like 27lbs ECP + 5% prestretch with BG80. Anyone else face this issue?
Guys, Stringers World are selling-off their remaining stock of the original Zymax at heavily reduced prices. Here's the link: http://www.stringersworld.co.uk/section/1562/1/old_production A
Any string that's been on a racket for that amount of time (2+ weeks) will lose its initial crispness, initial "pop". This is the reason why pros and serious amateurs restring their rackets regularly.
Goode Sport was selling a reel for a tenner and loose packs for 70p each 2 weeks ago... hahahhahahha unsurprisingly, the reels went off really really quick.. but 37.50 is still quite a bargain.. aahhaha
MMM........ where to begin? Well, I had my Ashaway Viper XT 900 re-strung in Zymax 70 red at 25lbs. Collected it yesterday having waited eagerly to try out the new '70. Broke within in a matter minutes. Very, very unhappy. :crying: Shame, because it felt very nice. Funnily enough, my stringer actually snapped a set whilst in the middle of the stringing process. This meant that I had to travel all the way back to his house with an extra pack. He's a brilliant stringer too. I've used him dozens of times so I know for sure it wasn't an error on his part. The thing is, I seldom snap strings, which is even more peculiar. The only strings I seem to break are Ashaway. From now on I'm going to stick with the BG65ti. I've experimented with enough strings. For me, the BG65ti (at 25lbs) is one of the best, imo!!! I still like Microlegend XL though. That's another decent string.
got my Head Power helix 8000 strung with Zymax 62 at 28 lbs, have not palyed that much with it but i could feel the repulsion and bounce, my intial felling is that its a very good string and I would stick with it for a long time
I know the tension is to going to fall, when i say going stick with it i mean that i will restring my racket again with zymax 62
I wouldn't worry about it. I think it was perhaps a bad batch or something. I bought them from stringers world UK. Funnily enough, the only strings I broke in the past were the original Zymax 70 (and 62) - on several occasions. It's still a very good string. Very powerful also, but I think I will be sticking with the BG65ti from now on. Shame, because I really rate Ashaway as a badminton brand. I love my 3 Viper XT900. Awesome.
dang, my MX80 string snapped (I used VS 850) well it's time to go back to Zymax string which colour is better for MX80? red or ivory?
I love this string. LOVE IT. It also doesn't hurt that an MX80 with red strings and red grip is probably the hottest looking racket ever conceived.
