Hey! it's a bit unfair! Why BWF just let BAM used their privilege as host nation in the past and then turned down china effort to propose a wild card when the latter also became host nation?

Maybe BWF want more players to win WC. LD has won too many.

Tey Seu Bock saying : "Lee Chong Wei will now have to face four China players"

    .
It is a surprise to read Tey Seu Bock saying : "Lee Chong Wei will now have to face four China players".

I would only expect LCW to face two China players (if he can make it to the Finals).

Let's wait for the draw/schedule to be released. :):):)

what about 5 wild cards for host Malaysia in WC 2007 ? is it fair ?

if Malaysia can get 5 wild cards, why complain about 1 wild card for Lin Dan ?

Its similar when people accuse FIA favour Ferrari when Schumi was at the helm.

I am keen to watch in the World Championship, if Lin Dan ever cross swords with his fellow countryman again, whether he will concede a walkover?

Thats just like getting Barrichello give way to Schumi on team orders.

Interesting that some people wrote that they believe LCW will win when LD is not playing and will not win when LD is playing.

In the poll, I have voted no before the news of LD getting wild card.

I believe that winning the WC will be determined more by LCW mental preparation than other factors.

Maybe he could repeat his wife's saga at 2007 China Open, beating 3 top Chinese players to clinch the title, who knows?

But given the mental status of his comments on LD's wild card.....

LCW's wife is much stronger than LCW, mentally! LCW is a joke when he commended on LD's wild card. He should say nothing if he doesn't want to say "Thanks BWF for the wild card for LD. Bring it on!". LCW is done! Even though I do hope LCW gets this WC title. He deserves the title. He is as good as LD. In fact, he made LD so great. LCW is great too. LD and LCW are way better than any other players. Always great to watch the game between LD and LCW. Hope LCW will not retire if he doesn't get the WC title in Aug.

Wish Peter Gade plays too. Really like him.

4MS from CHN, home court and CHN players will come prepared to win, the odds of another player winning is slim, that is why I say don't bet on it, you could be throwing $$$ away.
LD being wildcarded will face top seeded players all the way and could get KO early or the top seeded players could get KO early too facing LD...this is similar to TH after winning OLY04/WC05, took a sabatical and low seeded in AE then faced top seeded players, but TH was out of shape and we knew what happen to TH career took a nosedive and never recovered. Unlike TH, LD is prideful, very discipline and if he participates he will come prepared to win. If LD feels he is not fit or ready, he would rather WO or not play at all as we seen lately.
CL will be opposite half of LCW, that we know....DP, WZM and LD could be in LCW half and that would be a Himalaya mountain for LCW to clim.
CL playing at home and CHN next top gun with all the high pressures has a tendency to choke in majors, but the longer CL progress, the tougher and better he plays.
If LCW plays his best, he should overcome WZM/DPY.
And that leaves LD, who knows which LD will show up...One thing we can expect LD will be well prepared, fit....after all this a major (his 5th if he wins), his wife birth province, CHN hosting, etc.
The draw may tell us the odds of LCW winning or not.....now if LD is in CL half, that would be interesting and I salivate to see what would happen if LD/CL meets in the SF....the next one or the history making one to go through, and what a mental boost for LCW if LCW goes through to the final to await CL or LD. We said often LYB game fixing, I like to see how he will do this one if he really will to fix the player to play LCW in the final of a major event hosted in CHN...CL who is capable of beating LCW and LD who has not played since OLY12 but has beaten LCW in majors. That would be a dandy and how will LYB even ask one of them to throw the match.
Hard to say at this point who I think will win...we are to predict who will win up till the draw date, then I predict LCW will win this one but not bet $$$ on it happening. Just my thought.

Wong Mew Choo in 2007 China Open was more than just beating 3 top Chinese players, she also beat all the blatantly biased Chinese umpires and linejudges. it was epic.

Like it or not wild card was given to LD, even though i can understand why some people would say its unfair especially for LCW, i think the best thing BWF can do is to put LD in CL bracket.
