I am not talking just about China's and/or Malaysia's behaviour

    .
I am not talking just about China's and/or Malaysia's behaviour.

I am talking about BWF rules applying to all players and/or to association members; And how BWF can prevent allowing them to find loopholes in their tournament rules to gain an advantage.

Yes, in the 2007 WC, BAM and Malaysian coaches also found loopholes in BWF rules to gain advantage (to field in more MAS players).

Currently, I think 3 players from each country is the best, since there are only 3 medals (Gold, Silver and Bronze) to be won.

Previously (as many BCers know), I thought that for the WC, only 1 player/pair from each country (each national Singles/Doubles champion) is to participate in it; therefore letting only national champions to challenge each other. :):):)

Right, BWF better do something, the rate China baddy is going,

it could become like ping pong :p

OTH, can it be amended to three maximum (including the wild card)?

That would be taking out a qualified player :D

or four maximum including the wild card ?

    • Wild cards are no loop holes. They are there for exactly the purpose of promoting the game. BAM was right to use them as the host. CBA did not have that opportunity due to the rule change. BWF stepped in to do the right thing.
    • BWF needs to do more but the other BAs need to do even more. Badminton cannot be advanced by limiting China. Players from other country just need to get better. Tennis is full of players from the U.S. That does not seem to limit its appeal.
    • Instead of limiting the number of players from China, BWF should come down hard on suspicious walkovers. If I were the president of BWF, I would look into the eyes of LYB and his boss (a VP of BWF) and ask them to guarantee full out competition among Chinese teammates before I give LD the wildcard.

Anybody is saying wild cards are loop holes?

Giving it to LD after eight months absence is kinda wake up call

for us to glue our eyes coming this WC :D

Yong bo & company will give you heaven and earth before the wild card is given to LD,

after that i am not too sure :D

I don't think it's the BA's who were trying hard to find loopholes in BWF rules. It's BWF who awarded the wild cards to the nation, even with the nation already send 3 players through the qualifying ranks.

About why send 4 players, well, maybe to give the nation better opportunity to win? And if you missed it, WC is different with OG. OG do just offered 3 medals, but WC offered 4 medals, 1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze. :)

Hypocrites, hypocrites, why the world is so full of hypocrites?

When using the same rule to their benefit, no problem.

When using the same rule to others' benefit, cries and playing god pretending to uphold justice just to discredit use by others and maintain the benefit of their own...

That's why I said this thread is going nowhere and should be closed when we have this kind of comments.

LD already got his wild card. What more do you want?

Why close this? Without this thread I did not know that Maylasia got 5 wild cards in 2007 WC.

Lee is not a smart guy. Maybe that's why he cannot win big titles.

That's right, one has to quit international scene for eight months,

go here commercial shoot there commercial shoot,

    collecting big bucks,

refuse to qualify entry for wc instead use back door,

and blow nose all over the court area when playing in final,

make us spectators grind our teeth when we see him do jumping smashes,

pull out shirts and jump up and down after a win.

And that's how we all love to see LIN DAN .... damn smart guy :D :D

An athlete is also a human, need to take rest and do something else he wanted. He didn't owe the fans anything. He do it within rules and received a fine according to rules. He applied leave to BWF but rejected. He now only ranked 40 and have to play qualifucation in GPG. He take up the responsibility as a man, not like someone whined like a girl...

Why fans need to grind your teeth? What do you want more then? In sports world, No one is at any other's mercy. You are at your own mercy.

Just because you love him too much and lead to so much hatred, and want him to be under your own mercy... How to call this???!!!
