This was the reason given by Meiliana Jauhari for the defeat against the Korean pair:

Seems like an over-used excused that's used so many many times?

this one also the same :

:D:D:D

At least they know what's lacking in their play. Back then, I read somewhere in MAS players sub-forum that LCW was really frustrated because his opponent (back-up squad) had no slightest clue why he lost. :p

How I missed the 'never-say-die' attitude from our shuttlers - especially our girls.

Since INA Thomas and Uber team didn't get seeded in both sector, it result in INA should be grouped with CHN. Very bad draw indeed, INA has potential to meet CHN again in knockout stage. But we should keep finger crossed. :D

So, who do you think will be part of the team.

Here is my prediction.

INA Thomas Team.
MS 1 - Simon Santoso. He suffered yet another injure and retired from BAC, hope a quick recover from him. Just notice that Simon is quite prone to injure..

MS 2 - Taufik Hidayat. Eventhough many said that TH is not that good for team event. But his recent form will silent all the doubt. Taufik is still deserve to be in the team, and i believe he is still capable to beat any of other countries MS 2( Chen Long in exception, perhaps ;)) Its all depend which Taufik will appear on court :p

MS 3 - Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka. He showed better perfomance lately, but also got injure in his wrist now. Hope fast recovery.. I think he will deliver points when facing non CHN opponents.. Other countries MS 3 that potentially will face Hayom in knockout stage, HKV(Danes), Hafiz(MAS), Kasuzhi(JPN), Hong Ji Hoon(KOR), Chen Jin(CHN).

Reserve MS - Tommy Sugiarto.

MD 1 - Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan. or Kido/Hendra. Not sure why i feel they will field Hendra/Ahsan as INA MD1. Eventhough i think Hendra's defence seems weaker and quite messy.. and why i also fell they won't field Bona/Ahsan as MD1 when facing top countries.

MD 2 - Who?? Errr... Kido/Alvent? Alvent/Ahsan? or other combination.

Reserve MD - Bona Septano, Rian Agung Saputro. Just guessing :p

INA Uber Team

WS 1 - depend on rank.. either Febe or Firda. I hope Febe will be INA WS 1.. hehehe.

WS 2 - Adriyanti Firdasari. Err... hope INA won't face CHN in Knockout stage. Her potential opponents in Knockout stage(let's pray INA won't face CHN :p) : BYJ(KOR), Karina(Danes), Ai Goto or Eriko (JPN), TTY(TPE), Porntip(THA). I would say 50:50 chance for Firda if face these players.

WS 3 - Aprilia Yuswandari. Her potential opponents, Eriko or Minatsu (JPN), well she has good record against Eriko.. Pai Ma Hsiao(TPE), Sapsiree(THA), Camila(Danes), Hwang Hye Youn(KOR). Well, at least April has beaten all fo these players...

WD 1 - Greysia/Meiliana

WD 2 - Nitya/Feinya

Reserve - Suci/Della

IMO, as long as INA didn't face CHN in Knockout stage, i would say INA ladies team still got 40 % chance to through to SF..

I also missed that, no need to be like Susi or Mia. I hope they can be at least like MKY. She play greatly despite injury. :)

... and this too!

I think for MD1 INA will field Rian/Angga & Ahsan/Setiawan for MD2, especially when facing KOR & CBA.. There is no way INA 1st MD no matter which duo will it be could defeat in form CY/FHF & LYD/JJS, & 40-60 chance when facing MB/CM in favor to the latter..
The real problem is when INA encounters CHN.. TH need to defeat CL which is quite hard but still visible...When facing KOR, INA 2nd MD need to defeat KSY/YYS , it is a tough job. Situation will be much more better, if Simon could defeat LHI

In my honest opinion, INA Thomas cup line up is quite equal in power, assuming every players gives their best & win the match they are supposed to win, INA Team could be the black horse & make a surprise....

I think PBSI need not call Vita/Nadya, instead give a younger pair a chance, like Suci/Della. But given PBSI fear of failure to meet their target(although sometimes the target is not high), I think PBSI will most likely include Natsir and only one young double player, either Della or Suci or even Gloria.

As for TC, the four singles are most likely confirmed, the 6 doubles players are more definitely comes from the 4 pairs of doubles that were in Axiata team.

I like Hendra/Ahsan & Alvent/Angga combination as well. However the latter needs more time as a doubles partner hence more training with current Double team at PBSI, since as long as i can recall, the latter only got teamed up at Axiata Cup final, 1 match only. CMIIW.

We need the element of surprise, and i think that is one important element that we need if we really want to be the black horse. In my opinion, INA chance is quite big, if those element of surprise works well..

I agree completely with you that the youngsters should play in 2 categories when they're young. I actually tried arguing the benefits of playing in 2 categories blabla... The PBSI guys have made up their mind about this... :( And this included the top coaches...
