I think Wei Feng's playing strategy can still be tuned by a coach who understands his style of play, strength and weaknesses. Whatever input Wei Feng is receiving is obviously not enough. Wei Feng's lefthanded play is nevertheless, quite crafty and deceives opponents. I do think that he is not groomed to his full potential. This is where Malaysian coaching is lacking. If Morten, Yang Yang or Li Mao were still around, Wei Feng would even be more fantastic. A progressing player will always have to come to a point where he crosses the 'threshold of stroke technicalities' to another threshold of 'play strategies'.
Continued his rather consistent performance of late, beating Yunus Alamsyah. Surprised that he has the stamina But the real stamina test comes against Chun Shih Kuei later!
i hope he is not like Daren Liew and Arif... They both did well in 2 or 3 tournament, everyone will think that they will be the next lee chong wei and suddenly, they just dissapear(lost in early rounds). I hope CWF will be more consistent
I'm starting to see a pattern of consistency in Chong Wei Feng. You can almost tell that he puts in 100% into every game, except in his meetings with China players, where there seems to be some kind of inferiority complex and mental block. On a positive note, it's good to know he's climbed up to no. 26 spot in the world rankings... and the second best Malaysian singles player on paper.
CWF can do a bit better than Daren Liew, but he really need to takes down at least 1 GPG win this year... DL is as dissapointing as you can imagine, always fluck at 5/8... iirc, he only manage to get pass that once in his life in indonesia GPG a few years ago....
Denmark open pits Simon Santoso against CWF... you can predict his future based on his performance against Simon.
A close game taken to the rubber. CWF was clearly out of gas the last few points of the rubber game. He could have won if he had the fitness.
um....the match hasn't even started yet....why not you head on to china super series thread? and tournamentsoftware to check the results...u can watch the match live later on online
