To All My Dear Brothers & Sisters on Badminton Central:

Please do not ask this Panda to compare rackets. There are many reasons why Panda cannot do it:

    1) May not have tried one or more of the rackets.

    2) Panda is busy making rackets

    3) Panda is busy answering FAQs and working on the reviews

    4) Panda is busy eating one of the following: Nasi Goreng Special, Kung Pao Three Items, Thai BBQ Chicken, Walnut Shrimp, Penang Beef, Fish Tacos, Escargot, Sashimi Geo Duck in spicy sesami oil sauce, Hokkien Mee Soup, Mastro's Ribeye or Peter Luger's PorterHouse Steak.

    5) Panda is...if you really have a question, PM, thanks.

    P.S. Panda's don't really eat escargot. :p

Just got my T2 few days ago and played for my first time yesterday with string BG66 strung at 26lbs.
The string broke after 2 games yesterday nite....T_T
But overall, T2 is easier to play and control compared to T1.

I finally got to try my T2 tonight for a little bit - it handles very nicely! I'll try it some more tomorrow.

    An update on my T2.

    Original review here:
    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1340763&postcount=1234

Having played 4 more solid hours with it, still more than pleasantly surprised by how light and quick it is. Especially useful for defence: smashes that previously I couldn't retrieve, now can be returned easily with a wrist flick. Clears, drives are effortlessly powerful when wrist snap technique is executed.

Smash timing for me however is still off due the faster racket head speed. I kept hitting the top frame or the top few cross strings. But when I rememberd to wait and connected properly several times, it was a wonderful feeling! Very addictive.

Also had a chance to try out the U2, similarly spec'd as my T2.
On playing, it was stiffer and more solid feeling than the T2. Head speed not as fast as T2. Quite some heft in the swing, so clears and smashes are more powerful, but defence is slower. Got noticeably tired using it for 15 mins in a MD game. I'm not strong enough to wield it properly, will stick to my T2.

My next step is to increase the string tension on the T2. Since it is more flexible than my previous TiSP SS, I think I'll up it by 2 lbs to 23-24 with the wonderful Zymax 67 strings that were on Takamsda's demo U2.

    Panda's sad. :crying::crying::crying:

Just before sending the Ultra Woven Prototype (UWP) to it's eagerly awaiting, proud, new owner in Australia, Panda figured to test it and make sure everything was good. A few clears, a few smashes, a few drives, some defense...Panda didn't even get past the clears...

...on a backhand clear, this is what happened below. :crying:...:p

Prior to it breaking, Panda has to say the UWP was one of the most stable, most satisfying rackets to hit. So solid and powerful. However, Panda could feel the shaft really flex, but didn't think this would happened. Oh well, back to the drawing board. ;)

That's why you have a research and development team (with experience and knowledge ) in major badminton racket company to test out all the aspects of a racket :D. Is not as easy as 'pick-n-mix' when developing a racket .Yes , back to the drawing board for you bro. ;)
first you don't succeed , you can always try again !

Well, that's why a few racket manufacturers send me prototypes to test, to see how they perform and how durable they are.

On paper the Ultra Woven frame and shaft are super strong. The frame was definitely super strong. So solid and stable. A woven, triple tapered shaft! It's not going to get much stronger than that. But as I started clearing, I could feel the shaft flex a bit too much, so when it did snap in two, I wasn't *that* surprised. Still, it should not have happened.

What I need to do now is mate that new Toho-Tenax super graphite with this Ultra Woven frame, that "should" be the ticket. Toho-Tenax (a subsidiary of Teijin Industries, Japan) is a relatively new player and they have developed this new super stiff, super strong (normal) graphite. Been testing that stuff and it's a real winner.

There you go bro , I knew my comment before would encourage you to think positively again and make you think about why it happened as it did.
New materials are always risky but might have hidden benefit .
I would have thought that your woven version was build to be too strong and would need abit of elasticity within the material (might need to incorporate some form of an alloy)

Have you check the stress and strain of your new graphite ?
