Looks great. If it's headheavy and xstiff I must make a tough decision. VT80 or MX80.
Does anybody know what technologies are included in VT80? If it's only a VT70 with different specs I will buy the MX80.

i heard all the Yonex 2011 racquet's are infused with Nanopreme technology. here's details about Nanopreme,
Nanopreme(TM), the carbon nanotube (CNT) enhanced epoxy resin results in improved performance of golf clubs and racquets. During product testing, Nanopreme scored improvements of 14 percent, 21 percent, and 24 percent, in flexural strength (bending strength), flexural modulus (stiffness) and impact strength (addressing external shock) respectively compared to conventional carbon materials. This results in products that are lighter, stronger, and more resilient than existing racquets "
    so, your opinions?

Isn't MX80 even balanced? I think there is a new chart on AT700 as well and apparently the VT80 has taken the spot of AT700 on it. If I remember correctly ..., been a week since I read that and started the thread on Nanopreme in this very section ;) (of which VT80 will be the first badminton model to have it featured).

You'd have to compare their other prices to see if they are more expensive in general. Probably it will retail on Z-Slash level initially, VT70 wasn't/isn't exactly cheap either.

(cr*p, missed Match of the Day again ...)

Of course not. How can you hold a big introduction at the All England if it is already on display in the catalogue? ;)

Is it Photoshopped? All the pics on the Yonex website look like a bad photoshop job ;)

As they say, LD, "a fool and his money are soon parted..."

I'm sure you and I will keep our zloty/pounds safe in our pockets !! Yonex prices are 'criminal'. Flame-proof clothing on ......... ;-))

Nothing incriminating about Yonex's prices... I (and I guess you) just won't pay the asking price.

One general comment I'll make about folks that are complaining about high priced Yonex or Li Ning raquets. Specifically the comment by Roy b when he says "a fool and his money are soon parted..." . Roy, there are no fools here, they are all out on the golf course.

True, most are on the golf course. They do pay a lot more money for equipment and memberships than us, but it's all reletive. They don't go buying new clubs every week....:)

Yeah, I don't think I will be buying this racket. I might test it, but it will take a lot (and I mean a lot) to take me away from my SW35.:)

I believe a lot of people are eager to see this :D

A side by side comparison between VT70 and VT80 also shows that the VT80 has a thicker frame, but the shaft is still the same "Long" size

It's an all black SAMPLE VT80 by the way.

VT80 will be replacing the AT700 in terms of Yonex's specifications of a very head heavy, extra stiff shaft racquet (technically the AT700 also has a pretty stiff but bendable [NOT exactly flexible though]; you can confirm this by giving a beginner player a flexible racquet and the AT700 with the same string tension etc and see which one the person can hit a high clear farther with).

Exactly. Together with fact that "two wrongs (Golf manufacturer rip-offs and Yonex rip-offs) don't make a right.."
