    Is there an option to stop the e-mail notifications from CCC Badminton?.......

    .
    Hi CCCers,

    Found this question (which is one of our common/frequent questions):
    Is there an option to stop the e-mail notifications from CCC Badminton?

    For the answer, please read this post that I have added in our thread titled;
    CCC Badminton: Frequently Asked Questions: click here

    ====== * ====== * ====== start post ====== * ====== * ======

    Question: How to stop getting vast number of emails from CCC at Badminton Central?

    Answer: Many CCCers found it best to bookmark our CCC Site (click here) and read our threads/posts when they find time.

    To unsubscribe from our individual CCC threads, follow the steps below:
    1. UserCP
    2. Edit Options
    3. Messaging & Notification
    4. Default Thread Subscription Mode

    If you set the 'Thread Subscription Mode' to 'Do not subscribe' or 'No email notification', then you won't be getting vast number of emails from CCC at Badminton Central.

    ====== * ====== * ====== end post ====== * ====== * ======

    But then again, please read our CCC Site (click here) when you can find time. This is because we have many other CCC activities that you might not be aware of.

    Cheers... chris-ccc

    Sunday CATS at MSAC on 23-Aug-2009 (A Short Report)

    We worked on better footwork for moving to the net (for the netplay and the lift). Much time was spent on drills to improve our strokes and footwork at the net.

    It was great to find our 2 girls, Shirley-Y and Wenyi-T, gaining confidence playing at the net. And Helmut-H and James-F have improved in their dropshots as our drills progressed.

    For our next CATS, we shall work on better footwork for moving/running backwards to our back tram-lines to perform our overhead shots.

    chris can I make a suggestion for your training group? I find from playing social with some of your players that they do not move around the court in sync when playing doubles. the basics are good, but good doubles rotation and understanding of your partner is something that could be worked on. for the females in your group, an understanding of the role of a woman in mixed doubles, which shots to go for, when to move back from the net, what to do after a serve, etc are essential. For the men, I can only speak from mens doubles point of view, as I am no good at mixed, but for MD, the concept of 'attacking' formation and 'defensive' formation, and one of the most important points in my opinion - changing from defensive position to attacking position and how to best achieve this.
    just some suggestions.

    Hi Greg,

    You have to understand that CCCers at our Sunday CCC CATS are there to work/improve on their skills that they wish to work at. They are not thinking along the same line as you have suggested. Many of them don't even attend our Wednesday CCC Social Sessions at MSAC.

    Our 2 girls who attend our Wednesday CCC at MSAC, Sharon-O and Shirley-Y, usually wish to play the 'Level Doubles', not the 'Mixed Doubles' formation.

    You have to talk to them, instead of talking to me. Let's see what they have to say, as to replying to your post. ;););)

    I appreciate the reply, I was merely making a suggestion. The players can read my suggestions. However, in reply to your comment, I would assert that yes, players should work on areas of their game that they feel is weak, but is it not also the duty of the coach to FIND these weaknesses and work on them? I know from my own past experiences with national level coaches that they find weaknesses in my game, and we work on improving these weaknesses together. if it was left up to me and me alone, I would probably get lost in what to work on (everything would probably be my answer to my coach).

    Actually, many of our CCC mens do not know how to play the 'Mixed Doubles' game

    .
    Agree... However, if our CCC girls are only interested in playing the 'Level Doubles' formation, they won't be interested to learn how to play 'Mixed Doubles'.

    Actually, many of our CCC mens do not know how to play the 'Mixed Doubles' game. Usually, it ends up like playing a game of Singles, with their female partners left out during the game. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    CCC CATS at MSAC on Sunday 30-Aug-2009: Please wait for more notification

    .
    Hi CCC CATS trainees,

    CCC CATS at MSAC on Sunday 30-Aug-2009: Please wait for more notification.

    Received from MSAC this message:

    ====== * ====== * ====== start message ====== * ====== * ======

    Hi Chris,

    Just letting you know that unfortunately due to the BV Team Championships on Sunday 30th August, both Badminton halls will be out of action from 8.30am-5pm.

    We apologise for the disruption.

    ====== * ====== * ====== end message ====== * ====== * ======

    Remember what happened for Sunday 09-Aug-2009, when we had a similar message from MSAC. It was found later that there were poor participation in that tournament, and our CATS could be held (after it was cancelled for the same reason).

    Therefore, please watch this thread for further announcement if our CATS could be held or not (for Sunday 30-Aug-2009).

    A confirmation would be posted on or before Saturday 29-Aug-2009.

    Please respond that you are aware of this notification, so that we do not need to inform each of you individually.

    Cheers... chris-ccc

    Hope that we can find another 5 CCCers to book in for this session.
