she was that great? damn! i didn't knew her earlier. btw, has she been in the UC team one time? when?
Well at least she has a major title added to her list of achievements. It's a pity she has not won an All England title before the injury because she is truly one of the best players.
That's a very good question. She was not even selected to represent the team in UC when she injured her knee during China Masters that was after UC wasn't it ?
She didn't play well in 2010 at all. That's why she was not selected to play in Uber Cup. Her ranking was behind WYH, WX, JYU and even WSX. Somehow she played so well and won the WC.
oww.. so she hasn't in the team before.. and when the chance comes to her, TUC preliminary round, she didn't make it. what make it worse is that she played the most crucial match that time. hehe
She has great value to the team. Even if her fitness means she cannot compete at the highest level she will be useful training since her skill level and speed poses a challenge to higher ranked team members even if just for one set. Hopefully she has a value to the team at championship winning level as well. Hope her game can be more tactically and controlled after her injury.
Nobody could or should blame her for the defeat...Her injury and Mitani were the reasons why As long as China makes it to the finals, that's the only thing that matters
oh, thanks for the info bout the sudirman cup, alanY. btw, who is another china WS that time with her? WYH?
only Wang Lin and Wang Yihan in the team sheet. after the group matches they don't have chance to play at all, always 3-0 up before the WS!
thanks for the info, Qidong. wow! were they that great that year? never ever lost even a match in 2009 SC?
Once of the nicest badminton players I've met. Always smiling and happy to talk / take photos / sign autographs and hanging out with people from other nations like Taipei and Hong Kong When she lost to Bae Youn Joo I was feeling sympathy for her because she had fought back from her injury and now losing to people who she could've normally (possibly) beaten had she not come across the problem Now she is in China's lower division and helping to train up upcoming juniors like Han Li, who performed very well in Australian Open 2012
hmm, quite tragic. the one who help to train was failed, and the one who helped training can win. wish her a good come back at the BAC.
That's the big difference. A severe injury. I wonder if Lee Chong Wei can produce the same kind of performance after recovery..
Interesting. Han Li is 4 months older than Wang Lin. But Wang Lin definitely has way more experience.
