it's good. If LCW also withdrew, this SS would be degrated to GP level.

Meanwhile Wang Yihan is starting the tournament with a vengeance, drubbing Kaori Imabeppu who is no pushover, 21-10, 21-13 (from 11-1).

Well, that was some bizarre long-winded screaming by someone whom I assume is an audience member...

I think Srikanth has an upper hand. I think CL must have lost due to exhaustion due to CNG.

Great win by Prannoy too. SaiPraneeth need to maintain consistency now. Too many exits in the first rounds. Though Hun Yu is no easy player, Praneeth should have beaten him.

I am betting Srikanth reaching the final :)

No CNG exhaustion.. CL did not play China Masters. He had complete rest. Don't take away the credit from Kazuteru Kozai ;). I think it will not be an easy outing for Srikanth . KK has home ground advantage. But Srikanth will give a good fight. I am sure about it.

CNG is history while some who played in China Masters gave walkovers here. Only a handful of CHN players who played in last 2 tournaments are still here. There are also some non CHN players who played in China Masters here. This sort of even things out except MS where LCW is the overwhelming favourites. He could win it even wearing an eye patch.

I hope the Japanese MS creates more upset in this tournament. We need more exiting next batch of MS players to make the MS games more interesting (as in the WS). :)

Both Li Xue Rui and May gave walkover in R32, such coincidence! Anyone knows the reason?

He used to play for TONAMI but is recently assigned as coach for a university here in Kyoto called Ryukoku, which btw is one of the strongest universities in the Kansai area. Within Japan his highest rank was 7 in MS and apparently he still within top 10.

Chen Long blamed his first round shock defeat to a qualifier on the tight schedule of the BWF. That is not exactly correct as he can pick the non-premier BWF-sponsored tournaments to compete so long as he plays a certain number of BWF tournaments. He didn’t play the China Masters last week and that should give him, a young man, enough rest after the CNG. Obviously his stature has been badly tarnished and he just wanted to justify his loss so that, perhaps, his big boss, LYB, would not sideline him.

Seems like CL is a little upset with BWF for scheduling tournaments too tightly. LOL :D
