this photo also shows that the side support is way way too large for badminton rackets. it would be nice if they shave off half the height. that will allow for less obstruction.
have to agree that the Yonex support is more compact and give more clearance. anybody has a milling machine i can use?
milling? that's so refine and tedious try out the angle grinder, wanna borrow mine? http://yahoo.shoptoit.ca/shop/product--catId_1001249__locale_en__productId_2127673.html
managed to cut it with a dremel. still crude and quite a bit of work. the result is acceptable. will post pics tomorrow.
Kwun is afflicted with the most severe form of poisoning . . . I can't believe he gets this hardcore with stringing.
Kwun are your supports fastened on the bottom of the arm? Seems like your modified nut situation is a pretty good solution. I think I might try something similar. The other thing you could do is take a 1/4 piece of scrap metal, get a basic circle shape and drill it like a washer.
no they are not fastened. only friction and gravity hold it in. a bit dangerous but seems to be ok. i don't do crazy tension anyway so should be alright. i was at homedepot looking for anything that can do the job. the nuts costs 11 cents each without any hassle. i am cheap.
Nice cut! Even with a mill you probably couldnt have gotten it that much cleaner. I think im going to try and make mounts from some derlin blocks matched up with a bolt possibly.
Delrin being a less stiff material than most metal will mean you need to use more material and thus the end result will be bulkier. i think the older version of ASE as well as the HQSE has Delrin as the side support. Delrin is 10x easier to work with. the other issue is how do you effectively mount the bolt on the support without any sacrifice in rigidity.
The person to ask about rigidity is our Panda SirDink. He has done major work with the Opus shoulder supports on the Eagnas machine.
