Below are the essential dimensions on the SP Tennis Opus Badminton Mounts. The essential number for Panda is the 16mm "base". Everything else there's leeway.
Does the distance between the bolts not matter? I have the same supports, but am not at home to measure. -Fidget a la belle province
No, because Michal is developing a base. The base for Panda needs to be 16mm +/- 1mm. Depending on the machine, the height required maybe different for you.
The distance between the bolts for Pro's Pro/Eagnas machine is 18mm (+/- 1mm) on my version. It's surely correctly for this type of machine (tested). The bolts (screws) are 8mm diameter (M8). The construction of Sillent Partner machine is a little different. They are not a free spaces for second bolts. So I'm planning to make another construction of base for SP machine- the holes for bolts will be closer (12mm not 18mm) and the second bolt will be smaller diameter (M5-M6 not M8), this 1-2mm free space allows micro adjusting supports for every racquet frame. This suppports for SP machine will be mounted like P'sP/Eagnas supports. DinkAlot: thanks for pictures with dimensions.
It's possible. In my opinion SP suports work correctly on Psp/Eagnas Machines, but Psp/E support doesn`t fit for Silent Parnter. Pro's Pro/Eagnas arm has free square for the second bolt, SP doesn't. One pictures is better than thousands of words. You use this suports (SP Opus) with different way (picture below), but IMO it's better to use clamps (you can mount clamps just by frame of racquets, very nearly). I hope that construcion of my „custom” supports eliminates this problem.
Yes, that's how Panda uses the SP mounts but do not understand the alternative, what clamps? Please show us a picture of the clamps, thanks.
My mistake, I'm sorry for my language errors. It should be: In my opinion you use this suports (SP Opus) with different way (picture below), becouse it's better for flying/fixed clamps (you can mount clamps just by racquet's frame , very nearly).
Only pictutes now. I will write some information, and will reply to eventual questions tommorow. Best regards, Michal
It's only 1 set now, but in the next 2-4 weeks I can make the rest ~10sets (including one special version for signflip4life) and send it. The price will be 30$/4 pieces with nipples and 25cm extra thermo sleeve (reserve, it's enaugh to make a double layer for this 4 pieces). Shipping- EMS, http://www.pocztex.pl/ems_cennik_uslug.php Shipping to USA (<2kg, 150PLN=> 55$ US), to Malysia (maa2003) (<2kg, 182PLN =>65$ US), (1PLN= ~2.8 USD at the moment, 1 set weights c.a 300g). Payment- PayPal (first advance ~10$ (~30%), the rest (20$ + shipping price) day before shipment); if anybody has anxiety, I can make an auction on Ebay. I'm planning to send only one pack to somebody in USA, and this person (trustee) will send to other people in North America, IMO it will be the best version. For example: DinkAlot (USA) 3x30$ Signflip4life (USA), 1x30$ Fidget (CAN), 1x30$ Shipping: 55$ (to USA), f.e 8$ (within USA), f.e 12$ (to Canada), Total shipping cost 75$/3= 25$ (it's cheaper than 3x55$) (I have no idea about shipping cost Usa->Usa, Usa->Can) Decided person please write to me (PM). Best regards, Michal
I would think that Dinkalot would the natural choice as he is ordering 3 supports out of the 5. I of course would be more than willing to be the trustee.
After stringing few racquets, it appears that my first side supports were not so convenient, they too thin and some time when tensionning, the racquet goes out of one support... So I decide to make another wider set , for each support i welded 2 large washer on a screw.. elementary parts : The "proto" : Making the whole set : sawing washers : after welding : and finally after one hour of grinding... : I still have to paint them and gluing some pads for prevent damaging the racquet frames...
anybody tried sand casting? the SP Opus ones looks like they are sand casted. might make the production lower.
Hmm-mm, the Opus clamps are really nice. Not shure if sandcasting really comes cheaper at a such low count of pieces..
DinkAlot, Maa2003, Signflip4life, Fidget, MarkA, Valentinas and the others, Sorry for the delay. I'm very busy these days. The concept has been little changed. The supports will be 15mm basic height (or 13mm like the original pro's pro) with easy option to increase to 16-21mm. I'm waiting for the material now (unusual thickness of steel). I apologize for the delay again. Please be patient. Regards, Michal
My "Michal edition" supports arrived yesterday, and I am impressed with both the workmanship and the design. The height above the machine, which is the parameter with which I was most concerned, is fine - only 1 mm or so higher than with my old K brackets. There is a huge amount of room behind the frame, so you could conceivably occlude a (non-shared) hole with them. I did end up making a modification: I removed the smaller thread on two supports, as they prevented me from rotating the supports enough to get them at right-angles to the frame at the throat end of the racket - not a supports issue; an Eagnas fitment issue. Included with the supports, M8 nuts and extra heatshrink tubing. For what I paid, I feel like I've robbed poor Michal!
I must agree with Mark. Supports working nicely. Eagnas misplaced holes on the shoulders - considering to remove threads on the small pins of the two supports as well. Thank you Michal
