I earnestly hope that from this minor injury Li Xuerui learns how to protect herself and gains the knowledge and experience to stay as injury-free as possible. The better to scale new heights and reach the pinnacle of her game, like her idol Lin Dan. Right now, her only limitations are her youth and relative inexperience which only time can overcome. It's phenomenal that in just barely three years in the international circuit she has come thus far; there's no stopping her from getting better and better, and growing from strength to strength, conquering one peak after another. This is definitely not my wishful thinking - it's her own destiny.
Li Xuerui: A great at 21? http://www.sportskeeda.com/2012/12/17/li-xuerui-a-great-at-21/ by Dev Sukumar dated 17th Dec 2012 Guess what would LXR have become if she wasn't a badminton player? A teacher.
I‘ve pasted your hope into her baidu tieba. I’m not sure if she can read English, so I‘ve also translated it into chinese. I am not even close to a qualified translator, but I think she would clearly understand it if she had time to visit tieba blog. Also, I‘m pretty sure her former coach in Chongqing also sometimes visit this blog too.I believe she will definitely bring your hope, couragement and expectation to LXR even LXR does‘t have much free time to surf on the web because of hard training.
Her badminton career may last for another 5 or 6 years. After that, she can be a very good teacher for another 30 years.
Last year around this time, Li Xuerui won the WS title at the German Open GPG, beating Juliane Schenk. She will be trying to retain the title next week, and is seeded #1 this time around. Coming off a month of rest and training, she should be raring to go...
Ahh, I remember now. kwun too was prophetic when during the Li Xuerui vs Wang Yihan semifinal of the INA Open prior to the London Olympics last year which LXR prevailed, he prognosticated " A prelude to the Olympic Final?"
gentlemen, write this down. tomorrow's US$100million winning lottery numbers are.... 6.... 16...... 19....
Smoothly into cruise control at the German Open, LXR eases into a QF matchup agaisnt Japan's Sayaka Takahashi. If she gets past the Japanese girl, a mouth-watering SF beckons: against either Juliane Schenk on home ground, or the exciting (and Limsy's most favourite) Tai Tzu Ying!
Limsy please disclose who is your fav: TTY or the RAT??? You are limited to ONE only, that's what the law says.
LXR still seems to have a lapse of concentration problem. Maybe she hasn't fully settled in yet, after all, the GER Open is her first tournament of the year, excluding the KOR Open where she retired from injury in the first round after only a few points played. Also bear in mind she and the rest of the CHN team took a nine-day holiday for the Spring Festival in the middle of last month, thereby disrupting their winter training. I too look forward to seeing her play Juliane Schenk whom I regard as the fittest, physically the strongest, WS player - nothing against Tai TY. Just curious to watch how LXR handles a superbly fit opponent after having watched Wang Yihan tussled with Juliane twice recently. To my observation, Juliane is always at her best against CHN players, particularly the elite ones.
You're right! Juliane just dismissed TTY 21-14, 21-16, and we can hear the wailing in one particular house in Malaysia! Now, LXR has to do her part to ensure a meeting with JS....
.... but blew it! and Sayaka Takahashi scalped the top seed 17-21 21-12 21-17 in less than an hour! Good news for Sayaka, bad news for LXR. Wonder what happened out there....
