Just throwing up an idea about shuttles; Since I know some of the manufacturer, there's a certain grade of shuttles in the market. Shuttles can be considered the most expensive item in badminton. My thought is to collaborate on getting the best valued shuttles at the best price. We the consumer squeeze them on the price with volume purchase. It can be applied to rackets, grips, and others (I don't think this will be as popular). If we coorperate, we can have a win win scenario. What say you? First let me know the grades you like. You can just name the brand you like together with the models. We can try to decipher which model it is roughly. It'll work if there's enough support and volume.
wei, sometimes when I smashed at this little cute plastic birdie...they'll fold together & changed to rocket I'll vouch for Protech Masterpiece, RM50
ya... the plastic ones does fold when power people smash it. I used to use it when I was in teenage days. Mavis green and blue ones. Just to let you guys know about shuttle costs. Am sure some are glad to know. The cost for the highest grade is about 14-15usd. This means in the range of AS40-50. So you can roughly guess how much it will cost you on your side as well as the courier and the taxes. Am sure you can do your math. Any model lower that that is going to be yoyo in terms of quality. Still there's no guarantee from the manufacturer that they will be 100% for the highest quality ones. As for rackets, the cost is only around USD30 at most for the highest quality which your heroes are using. You can imagine how much you paid for the brand names. Mind boggling to some of you? Hope this tips helps. Of course you need to order at a certain quantity. Enjoy.
Hm, maybe we can do a thread, where good offers by online shops are shown? E.g a month ago, HEAD Air Power 60 was on sale with very good price, ca 8.50-9.50 GBP (not that I deal in GBP-s, but I give the original price). Any other brand doing promotions?
Oh wow, I guess the pricing is indeed a secret, even when you try to sell something. Nah, its the retail price for small quantities from factories. When you buy from importer, you pay for customs, VAT and profit margin. And when you sell to the customer, you add profit margin. Rince and repeat N times, then you know, for how much do you buy shuttles.
