Congrats to our new, err, "Tournament Umpire" ......

Indeed, this is a critical job that requires dedication of sifting thru millions of grilled hot, flaming posts .....

I wonder what's the, ahem, "qualifying criteria" and for BC umpires ..... definitely a lot tougher than BWF, surely.

Not sure I entirely agree with that part of Dune... To put it in badminton context, if you are within the game you sometimes cannot see your own mistakes. So you don't understand the process by which you are losing. Your coach on the other hand will immediately correct you at the mid-game interval :p As he is outside the process.

So I think to understand the process you must put yourself outside the process or you are part of it.

But... At the same time you cannot understand badminton matches without first having been part of the process (having played the game). As you will have no idea what does and doesn't work. So you must be both outside and inside the process to understand it. You must free your mind to float freely between these states to fully understand the game of badminton. Hmmm, cod badminton philosophy :p

Meanwhile back on topic. Congratulations Cobalt! You have joined (in my opinion) an illustrious band of some of the best moderators around in an online forum.

Thanks, Sevex and appreciate your take.... although it was my intention to refer to BC as the "process" ;)

Thank you, Sir!! :D Come on in, no one is ever late to a party! [IMG]

As you can see, I'm so slow, I'll prolly be late for my own funeral! :p
