It's nice to see them make a big upset against Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baek Cheol. They have a lot of potential, even more potential than Ricky/Berry I think. The good news is this year they're going to have regularly appearance on Superseries and GPG tournaments. Hope they can fulfill their potential.
A lucky escape for Gao Huan in G2. Once RO finds his rhythm and reads your game, you're like caught in his bind. IMHO, GH should play more front court, net shots and drop shots and only lift when necessary preferably to RO's deep backhand. RO is very strong in his forehand side and his follow-up fast flat pushes are troublesome; with his height and reach, he'll always try to force you to lift the shuttle to him. GH will have to try and break RO's rhythm by doing something different or unexpected once in a while to keep him guessing, easier said than done. My 2cents.
ouseph's still in the lead, he's showing his dominance. 15-10 is a good lead and i think he just needs to last a few good rallies to seal his victory. but then again, this is badminton - and badminton is a cheating, conniving, scheming, finicky biatch lol - and those guys are a level apart so... anything can happen ps: 18-12 now. they're so fast! they finished 6 pts in the time i finished a cpl sentences! game pt-14 now. ouseph's through!
Lucas Corvee gave Tian Houwei a hard time in G1 ?! What a tentative start for THW, not a good sign. At last week's AE, he was one game to the good but lost G2 narrowly,21-23 to HKV, and couldn't recover himself in G3;maybe he's still smarting from it - this is where maturity and experience come in.

INA has 10 representatives in R16, with one match featuring two of them (XD). So, 1 guaranteed place in the QF. MS - I don't think Andre Kurniawan Tedjono can beat Tian Houwei. Let's see. WS - Bellaetrix Manuputty has a good chance against Zhang Beiwen, with H2H of 1-0 in favor of Bella. MD - Positive results in R32 for Wahyu/Ade and Ricky/Berry plus the expected victory of Kido/Marcus mean that INA has 3 representatives in R16. Kido/Marcus and Ricky/Berry should progress to QF, while Wahyu/Ade also have a good chance against Chris Langridge/Peter Mills. WD - It was a close shave for Grace/Nitya in the second-set yesterday, winning by a whisker 22-20. Both Grace/Nitya and Pia/Rizki should progress to QF too. XD - As expected, Jordan/Debby beat Riky/Richi and they should take this chance to progress to QF although they face a tricky match against Robert Mateusiak/Agniezka Wojtkowska. In the all-INA match, Kido/Pia have a slight edge.
Yeah, it's too early losing for Ko SH as he's seeded pair for both categories...Not good result of KOR shuttlers lately, Son WH is exceptional who may cruise into final here based on his superb performance last week. The other side, well done action by INA back-up pairs Wahyu/Ade Michelle progressed, wanna see her performance after she booked good result at AE. Looking forward to Juhl/ Kolding vs Chai/ Tang today. The Danish pair finally had a decent tournament at AE, but i'm getting more and more impressed with Chai & Tang playing together.
Watching Adcock + Adcock vs Shin/ Eom. Don't remember the English pair having so many traffic problems before. Gotten in each others way on a few occasions. Chris cutting up Gabby like he's in a rush on the motorway.

REally disappointed with Anand Pawar..

Tien Chen CHOU [6]

-

Anand PAWAR

14-21 21-12 21-12

He should learn from Arvind bhat how to play though he is very much lower ranked to him. Arvind bhat played really well in German Open beating Hu Yun, Tien Chen Chou, Victor Axelsen, Hans Kristen VIttinghus etc. BUt here, Anand has got only one seeded player whom he was not able to beat . Really he need to work out a plan before everything goes out of control. He might be enjoying the privilege of being one of the higher ranked player from India, that's why he is still in the core group of india.
What a comeback from Ricky Karanda Suwardi/Berry Angriawan, trailing 3-11 in the decider and they slowly clawed back the deficit to eventually overturn the Danes 18-16. It was very tight right at the end with the Danes again leading 19-18 after winning 3 straight-pts. Luckily for the INA pair, they calmed their nerves to claim the last 3 pts of the match to take the victory 21-19. Nevertheless, it was not a convincing from the INA pair, especially in the first-set and the first-half of the third-sets, where they made tons of unforced errors. Now that they have fulfilled their seeds, they will be expected to take on the second-seed Tsai Chia Hsin/Lee Sheng Mu for a place in the last 4. The last encounter in Malaysia Open SSP 2014 was won by the TPE pair in 3 tight-sets (23-21 in the decider set). In the XD, both Markis Kido/Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth and Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto have made it to the QF. Kido/Pia will face Chen Hung Ling/Cheng Wen Hsing, while Jordan/Debby will test the Adcocks. Hopefully, at least one pair will progress to the SF.
