In mybadmintonstore.com, they offer both Hi-Qua Purple tubes and Hi-Qua Special Edition. These are the lower price shuttlecocks for duck feather (purple) and goose feather (special edition).

I was wondering for those that have tried both tubes if they would prefer one over the other. I realize that there are better shuttlecocks, but I'm kind of on a budget. I'm considering ordering tubes of 5, but don't want to end up paying for 5 tubes that won't really satisfy me.

    Thanks in advance!

I have tried the hiqua purple before. Decent quality for its price. But, if you are looking for performance shuttles, you might want to stay away from the purple.

I've tried the Special Editions the past few weeks. They aren't as durable as the HiQua blues and flare quite easily. The flight is good but deteriorates halfway through the match. For the money, they are ok, just make sure dont mishit it.

So I'm guessing I should pay slightly more and go for the SE?

I stand by the HQ-Blue. Been a great shuttle (used then for my annual tourney for many years) and a good price.
