    A. Member's club entrance will be free. In order for any non-member
to play in ABC, they have to pay the entrance fee.

    B. It's impossible to keep track of anyone come to play just for
SuperBird or play on any court before or after.

    C. The $5 Tournament Fee will go back to the winners not goes to ABC.

    Thanks
    William

FREE WATER & SODAS WILL BE GIVEN OUT FOR ALL PLAYERS--by Eddie :)

We will try to separate 2 groups: Stronger player(A)(females or males)---will pick a random partner from a box of name of ( a weaker players). So far this system has been working great in trying make a balance in the game & making it more excitement to play with a new partner:females or males.

ya i think the drawing for random partners should only apply if people don't have their own partners.

Come early, so Sammy & I can see how strong your lady partner is. We try to put the strongest player to pick a random D level or weaker partner. Not sure it will be fair for you to have D & D level partner: We will try to work things out at the tournament. We need to see how many ladies players we have. If everyone is OK with that, you can stick with your partner. We try to encourage friendship and most of all, Have a good time. And win some PRIZES AS WELL.

    ^^Eh..^^

..i consider myself a D, maybe even a D- player. So, can i get a stronger female player as my partner???..
..hmm, i kinda like this idea..but then, what if there is 1 super pair playing? most likely that pair is going to romp all the way and win the whole bling-bling-bling..hmm..
    Mix and match 'em??..
But i do like a longer scoring format, perhaps til 30 pts (1 game)..
Eddie, are you planning to reserve enough courts, just in case a lot of players/pairs turn up?

So far, We got at least 10 pairs.

If we go beyond 15 pairs...we are getting another Court. But, since we are playing doubles, we might use open courts for Consolation.

Every pairs will play 2 rounds:

1 rounds will be 21pts and the Winners of every round will be 21pts If you don't lose a game.

Consolation rounds will be 15pts. ONLY 21pts if we don't have less # of pairs to make game longer. This will be decided among players.

16pairs show up: The winners of all rounds will be playing total of 7 (21pts matches): I think that is a lot of matches. We don't want this tournament to go beyond 4hrs: We need to go to dinner & have time with the family too on Sunday.

The Final rounds will be played best of 3 games to 21pts: Players will have the option of pts. system and rounds.

    ^^So..^^

..if i understand the scoring format:
    - Each pair will play in the main draw using 1 game of 21 pts (straight).
    - Once a pair loses, then the pair will play in the Consolation Rd. Winning pair moves on.
    - Consolation Rd. is also 1 game of 15 pts (straight).
    - Not quite sure by this "16pairs show up: The winners of all rounds will be playing total of 7 (21pts matches)"??..7 of what??..
    Sorry if i misunderstand..:p

----->this statement is just telling you that the winning pairs will be playing many rounds as they more up the LADDER. :)Sorry for the confusion.

Everything you confirm is corrected. So far that is the idea ways of the pt. system at the moment. We might need to make a little tune-up before the game to make it clear & happy for the majority of the players.:)

Feel free to come & talk to Sammy & Me-Eddie if you misunderstand something or have a request you like. Then we will ask all players to do a quick vote on it. :)

    ^^Got it..^^

..that's what i thought as well & thanks for confirming.
As for my request, i only have 1. In case there are less than 16 pairs, that is to have an option to extend the scoring format to 30 pts (either split into 3 games, 10 pts each; or 2 games, 15 pts each).

How do you decide who wins with "2" games? :D

....or is it first to 30 pts regardless of 2 or 3 games??

    Can anyone play this event?

Can I play again? I'll try to bring some girls with me.

Is the $8.00 club entry fee waived for this event?

    Thanks.

    The more, the merrier..

    - Paul, of course anyone can join. The more, the merrier..
    - Paul, you are welcome to play in every single "Superbird" tourney. Having more ladies players is better than less. Of course, having more players/pairs will bring another challenge for the organizer to plan the tourney..
    - Eddie already mentioned (see post #21), a few posts back, there is no club entry fee if one is already a member of ABC (just need to pay $5 for tourney entry fee).
..sorry, i meant to say it's a 1 game of 30 pts but at 15 pts, the pairs switch sides. First to 30 pts, no deuce. Not 2 games of 30 pts.

    Congrats to..

..n3w813 (Brian) and his partner (Winnie??) for winning the SuperBird's XD tourney.
You both were the best pair (most balanced) and of course, by chance, the most fortunate as you guys have played together before (today's format was through a random pairing & who knew both of you were destined to play together).;)

Yes, as expected, a few other interested participants had to drop out due to the lack of ladies players.
Good turn-out nonetheless (14 pairs) and i believe the tourney was finished within the alotted time period.

Did you play yesterday AerotusX? If so, who were you? :)

Yes, Wainie and I were very fortunate that I picked her name out of the bag. It was a great tournament and we had a lot of fun. Thanks a bunch to the tournament directors, Superbird Eddie and Sammy. :D

Was it only 14 pairs? It was a 16-team bracket, so I thought there were 16 teams. :)

    If not mistaken..

..the last time i checked & counted, there were 14 pairs. They had to put up a 16 pairs bracket for the draw purpose (it's gonna be either 8, 16, 32 or 64 bracket). I believe 2 pairs got a bye in the main draw/1st rd.
