Mak/Tan can do it, if CB/ZN can do it too. They are definitely up there, again as I said, they need toughening.

BAC - Beat Kenichi/Kenta, not sure if you know who they are. That shows that they are actually at least around JPN pairs standard, I would be disappointed if they fail to make at least QF or SF depending on the draw. If like this year's MO draw, I would challenge them to beat Bach/Tony. Just don't expect them to suddenly become giant killers and beat CY/FHF, Ko/Yoo, MK/HS, etc. on for no apparent reason just because they are our hope. If we don't mention them at all, they wouldn't receive this fierce criticism.

I have high expectations simply because they are my favourite pair, and I believe in them. Jasonmarc's one should be a better benchmark, almost similar to TKH's in fact. Eaglehelang's should actually be more trusted as she actually analyzes them very carefully.

no, this young pair should have expectations close to something like yours

that will make them viciously hungry for titles ;)

Errr, sorry to say, Mak/TWK are the lowest in my list of the 3 pairs, remember many times I said wish Mak can change partner.
My expectation listed is in terms of winning titles, not just create upsets, reach Semi in SS kinda thing.

TKH give them 1 year to create upsets(I assume until mid 2011),after that is to win titles.

Yup, can remember that you said you wished the Mak/Teo pair is back :)
Winning GP Gold, expectation considered low? For me NO.

Its good to see MAk/Tan able to grab this oppotunity in Japan Open.........at lease they did not lost to a relatively tired Korean pair.........;):p

Just hope this could spur their spirit and confidence in coming tournies......:p:p Keep it up.......at lease not disappointing this time! :)

Haha, dont worry lah, I wouldnt claw Jasonmarc, I also agree. Ko/Yoo somewhat tired, a lot smash winners on Mak/TWK side. Their next opponent Kenta/Hirobe, was the one who beat them at 2010 Macau Open.

Yep, I was expecting straight game defeat. I thought if go rubber, they have a chance because Ko/Yoo went all the way to the final, never thought they won it in straights! :D

I hope they can take revenge a second time tomorrow.

Yup, there is where home ground advantage comes into effect, Mak/Tan might feel the pressure of the home crowd... they lost to the JPN pair last time in Macau, now it's the JPN pair's home crowd... this is an acid test.

Dont worry I know you wont claw him...you will give him TLC treatment, Japanese pair is a tricky pair...so tests still go on...

Even if they managed to beat the Japanese pair, their task is still far from over...maybe in another word...their real journey just started...

I think the key word is still consistency.....how do you think?

Mak/Tan were lucky to get away with the second game, lapses of concentration can be seen when they were 10-3 up but in the end got tied at 12-12... then they trailed before making a comeback at the end.
They need to keep full concentration against CB/ZN, I don't think they can make it past the Chinese...
I hope to see a goof fight and a rubber game from them. :)

Btw, it been 2 years since Mak Hee Chun defeated Chai Biao in the final of the WJC... now both are with different partners!
