CWF was actually leading in the rubber until 11-8. Then the Taiwanese chase and overtake until 16-13. Then CWFis turn to chase, kept at it until he won. I'm curious as to why he lost the lead after the interval in the rubber

Nothing happens. Their top players typically dont join the GPG events.

Even 3rd layer or U-20? They used to send one or two reps (usually women dept) into GPG level tournaments... And AFAIK, they are more than enough to cause notable upsets... ;)

Ahh, but they are free to do what they want. They didn't participate, their loss. :)

Hope Chong Wei Feng takes the SF spot. He deserves it after marked improvement especially since he has never reached the SF since so long.

Seems INA WS Hera Desi is consistently progressing and improving this year. But today she might be stopped by limsy favorite TTY.

    MS QF
Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo vs Hu Yun [5] - only young Wisnu is left in MS. That too because the top-seed Kenichi Tago withdrew. A rubber-set against Hu Yun will be a good result for Wisnu.

    WS QF
    Tai Tzu Ying
[1] vs Hera Desi [7] - Hera Desi fulfills her seeding. Can she upset Tai? Very unlikely but again a rubber-set will do for me.

Lindaweni Fanetri vs Gu Juan [2] - Linda is on a steady uptrend. But her record against Gu Juan is atrocious (1-4 from TS). So, the Singaporean should progress.

    MD QF
    Angga Pratama/Rian Agung Saputro
[1] vs Markis Kido/Alvent Yulianto Chandra - the top-seed Angga/Rian did not impress me in their debut match yesterday. They have another tough match today against the new pair of Kido/Alvent. I hope they progress.

Chen Hung Ling/Lu Chia Bin vs Muhd Ulinnuha/Ricky Karanda Suwardi [3] - Ulin/Ricky also need rubber-set to beat Nelson/Teo. They should progress to SF and fulfill their seeding.

    WD QF
    Gebby Ristiyani Imawan/Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah
vs Chen Pai Jou/Liu Su Chih - what an upset by Gebby/Tiara today. While not under-estimating their TPE opponent today, I think they should reach SF.

Suci Rizki Andini/Della Destiara Haris [4] vs Chen Szu Yu/Chen Ting Yi - ditto for Suci/Della. INA will be guaranteed one finalist if both Gebby/Tiara and Suci/Della win their matches today.

Hung Shih Chieh/Wu Fang Chien vs Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth/Rizki Amelia Pradipta - Pia/Rizki continue their rise and they also should reach SF.

    XD QF
    Muhd Rijal/Debby Susanto
[1] vs Muhd Lutfi Zaim Abdul Khalid/Vivian Hoo Kah Mun - Rijal/Debby are expected to lift their title here after beating Kido/Pia. Nothing less than that will be enough.

Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili [4] vs Chan Yung Lung/Tse Ying Suet - Riky/Richi should fulfill their seeding and if both Rijal/Debby and Riky/Richi win as expected, INA is again guaranteed a Finalist in XD.

They took out 2 top seeds yesterday, maybe it's blessing in disguise after all the absent of Mel/Greys make them rise to occasion :)

Ricky/Ullinuha lost to local MD Chen Hung Ling/Lu Chia Bin, 19-21 / 18-21. TPE pair leads with big margin at second set before INA pair narrowing the gap...
