what's a good shoe for a person that easily rolls his ankles?

anyone can share feedback on yonex's "anti-twist" technology?

The anti-twist system on my 89's is quite nice. I tend to do a lot of lunging and side stepping and it gives me good lateral support.

I see you've posted about your rolling ankles before :)

There are some shoes by Yonex, such as the shb 99's that have another versions where its slightly higher around the ankle to provide extra support. Not sure of they sell in the UK, but will be more accessible in the Asian Market.

Here's a link to show you what I mean.
    http://www.badmintonfan.com/Shop/shoes/yonex/200507/254.html

Most badminton shoes nowadays (newer models especially) should have some sort of PVC or carbon graphite etc. inserted inside the shoe around or just below the ankle region to provide lateral support and strength anyway.

You just have to make sure the shoe size is right fit with good tightening of the laces and possibly ankle supports (as extra) as someone mentioned in your other post.

I'm not sure of your level of play (beginner, interm, advanced - no offense to you), but working towards positioning yourself correctly after each shot will help put yourself in a more comfortable position to reach shots; reducing the risk of reaching for out of place shots. Hope that helps.

Started off with some Hi-Tec which were great but they didn't last long, couldn't complain at £12 UK.

Then moved onto Yonex SHB-99M but my feet ached.

Currently I have Ashaway Amps 301's. Absolutely superb shoes, very comfortable and have lots of support. No foot ache.

I just got my SHB-100 limited yesterday and I tried them the same day. Wow ! A wonderful badminton shoe. Comfortable, very light, nice grip and firm support of the feets. However I was not playing with a very good player and normally when I play against a good player for a long period I always get blisters. So, the real test will be in a week when I will play much harder and longer but so far they are very comfortable and that's a big +.

    Asics Gel Blade

I recently purchased a pair of Asics Gel Blade and after trying them a few times I have to syat hey are hands down the best Badminton shoes I have ever owned. Unfortunately, Asics do not sell them in the US, so I had to import the shoes from Europe (Google will point you to a few sites in the UK or Germany).

The main points of the shoe:
    + Asics Gel cushioning
+ A flat outer sole (this seems to be coming back after various companies experimented with other types of soles)
+ Something they call Impact Guidance System - may just be a Marketing thing, but I actually feel how I move faster through the court and have the right stability on birdie contact
+ The workmanship is of very high quality and the Badminton wear areas of the shoe are reinforced. Well, let's see how long they will really last :)

Main reason for me to look for a new shoe and not pick one of the Yonex models was that the Yonex are not available in my huge size ... the Asics go up to US 14 and are essentialy true to size (at least for me).

Previously, I used the Mizuno Lightning: In comparison, they are a little too light and the back heel is a little high, which makes for better shock absorption but less control as you move around on the court. They also have a split outer sole, so I definitely prefer the Asics Gel Blade.

Price is about 60 GBP in the UK or 90 EUR on the continent. They come in various colors (base is balck or white) and in a men's and women's version.

kmtcal: Good man, Asics is the way to go! I never knew they released it in black, looks kinda funky.

Same shoe used by clark in the england mens doubles team I realised recently, so starting to get popular.

BTW, whereabouts in the UK did you buy those shoes kmtcal? £60 is really expensive for just the shoe, or was that including shipping costs as well?

I got my white pair for £45

Or I got the wrong Asics model. Who knows ... I only know, that every Yonex model I tested was much more comfortable and that the Yonex I bought are perfect for my feet.
