Skip it to focus more and peak at major tournament like the WC.. a wise choice.. edit: juz saw his name in the entry list though.. Hope he skip this tournament, but i think he will still participate for the sake of the local fans
i think you mean lcw? hehe i talk about misbun jr. the final of this event on 5 may which is iinm is our GE. hmm..
haha sorry mis-interpret.. the final will be held on saturday and on thursday there will be quarter final.. its interesting.. let's see how the organizer squeeze it.. p/s not sure whether stadium juara is a good place for this event as the capacity of the stadium and the location is below average though.
With the absence of top seeds , Sindhu is seeded 1 in this tournament. Hope she does well and prove her talent to win the title ...
Goodluck Lee Chong Wei! Hopefully he can just focus on cruising through the tournament with not too much trouble from the younger up and comers so he is fresh for the bigger tournaments coming up
I want to see Song Xue advances from Qualification, and meet LCW in semifinal at the Top Half. I hope Sonny Dwi Kuncoro can regain form and advances all the way to final from the Lower Half.
Song Xue will beat Chong Wei Feng in the 1st round. Daren Liew however is more than capable to reach the QF at the very least.
SDK also withdrew, along with Simon, Hayom, Tommy. I guess SDK is still unfit, that is not good for Sudirman Cup. Meanwhile the other 3 are being prepared for Sudirman Cup. More training because their result are not good yet.
Song Xue withdrew. It seemed that he's not happy with the draw. He ranked #2 in the Junior ranking, and #129 in the world ranking, but he's still put in the qualification. While other players, many below #500 in world ranking, are in the main draw. For example, Li Qun Chong, no world ranking at all (compare Xue Song's #129), only #712 (compare Xue Song's #2) in the Junior ranking, but still in the main draw.
Here is the draw : http://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=1BB3EE73-7184-441E-A157-6F75976BA730 Please note that the final is on 4th May 2013, Saturday not Sunday, probably due to the General Election.
Courtesy of BAM website : Chong Wei out of Malaysia GP Gold Monday, 29 Apr 2013 Newly crowned India Open champion Lee Chong Wei has withdrawn from the Malaysia GP Gold badminton championships starting tomorrow. The world number one is nursing a left hand finger injury and has informed the Badminton Association of Malaysia of his intention to withdraw.
Song Xue (SX) only started getting world ranking points when he playing in Australia GPG 2013, and getting the pts around 10th April 2013. Junior ranking points are not taken into consideration. Malaysia GPG first players entry list published on 5th April 2013, so SX does not have any ranking pts then. Li Qun Chong is higher ranked than SX based on the 5th April list. I believe XS withdrew for other reasons and nothing to do with playing in "qualifications". . . this is just my thought. Anyway, looking at the withdrawal in MS, there is no MS qualification rounds played. SX would have gotten into the main draw.
