Yonex Nanogy 98 New String (NBG98)

Bought myself a new Apacs Lethal 12 with NGB98 strung at 26x28.

smash very sharp and loud. Louder than Bg66U and Bg85.
The only draw back is hard to play clear.
maybe should reduce 1-2 lbs next round.

even with 26x28, the string will move around.
bg80p and bg85 very steady and still.

 

ngb98, 95 and 80p, only cost you rm29-30 in puchong.
include stringer fees.

 

Same here. I got mine on a F9Ltd, and my God - smashing and drives are just..... heavenly. Even better than 66UM or even 68TI.

 

What's the difference between Plastic Packet Made in Japan NBG98 vs Paper Packet Made in Japan NBG98?

I have been exclusively playing with the plastic packet variety and the price of the Paper Packet one is way higher and I don't see a point, anyone care to explain?

 

JP coded string (paper packaging) vs SP/EX/CN coded (plastic packaging) that's all ._. as for difference in the string on the court some swear that JPs are more durable at higher tensions and play better others don't..Best is to try and see what works for you.

 

Now it come with Blue (matte), white and gold (original). Only cost rm29 include labor.

Color always not that extratice from this model. Bg66um come with much more better color... yellow, green.. so stricking

Which shop did you strung the string at RM 29, my was done at Rm 38 at Jb

 

Mine was RM40 at Balakong ... very pricey.
Any cheaper alternative around PJ or Selangor area ?

In my opinion fresh strung NBG98 needs some play-in time (~one intensive Match) to get its crispness. Freshly strung (at 28 lbs) it is a beast of a string hard to control the shuttle. But the longer it lasts the better the control, feel and crispness gets.

 

I can't play with this string... although it has some of the best repulsion around, it is so slippery that my shots have an accuracy rate of +/- 30 degrees...

And by the time the string starts to notch at the intersections, repulsion goes down significantly.

 

Rubbery?

It feels like a layer of Teflon coating. Probably the so called nano coating.

Don't most people think it's more slippery than a fish? Maybe I'm totally spoiled by the grip from vs850 and zm62.

 

Agreed. quite slippery indeed. I find it works best when strung at slightly higher tension ~27 lbs.

I find control from the string trying to "bite" into the shuttle..

When strung at lower tension, it feels squishy and spongy like my baby's nappies. lol
