Li Yongbo has given a warning to Zhang Ning....perform or be expected to be dropped from the Beijing Olympics.

So far, the 10 losses are:
    1 to Xie Xingfang
    1 to Lu Lan
    2 to Wang Chen
    1 to Pi Hongyan
    1 to Wong Mew Choo
    1 to Zhou Mi
    1 to Hwang Hye Youn
    1 to Jun Jae Youn
    1 to Tine Rasmussen
-- which means 8 out of the 10 are to "outsiders", not teammates. A very worrying trend for Zhang Ning indeed

I think CHN will put XXF, Zhu Lin and Lu Lan for Olympics...it makes more sense for CHN team...

i thought the only reason ZN is continuing to play is because of the OG. she will be devastated if they pull her out of it now.

Actually, Lu Lan has been trained under ZN......I think ZN prefers LL competing in Olympics...

Remember how CHN failed when they sent CH plus LD & BCL in Athens. It would be similar to XXF plus ZL & LL in Beijing.

    Dilemma:
    (1) It would be better for ZN to retire now than losing in early rounds in Beijing. At least more exposure for ZL & LL considering XXF will be retiring after Beijing Olympics.
    (2) But XXF still can't safeguard the last round, as she lost in the finals to both TR and WMC in JO07 and CO07.

Hopefully, ZN can buck up... I sincerely hope so...

yeah, i saw ZN in the coachs' chair when LL was playing. i guess CHN are grooming her for her future coaching role. i'm sure she'll make an excellent coach for the up and coming CHN WS players.

The right move for CHN would be to have XXF, ZL ad LL in the Olympics. Poor ZN seems to have lost a step. I think LL will become a better and more confident player if ZN retires. She'll be allowed (within LYB's constraints of course ;)) to be her own player having secured one of the OG spots.

Random thoughts: the 10 losses mentioned earlier in the thread have come against 10 different opponents. Does this mean players are able to figure out ZN better? In her stats (post #1), it mentions she is 150 lbs... 150 lbs?? You can't be serious. What an insult to her

No!!! Dont drop her... ZN is a very good n skillful player... She's just having some injuries now... Everything will be okay after she recovers... She will be at the top again, then she'll retire gracefully!!! haha
