Manohara is a Indonesian model which married with crown-prince of one of Malaysia state ..... let's forget this issue because it is not related to badminton. from Kompas online (www.kompas.com), it said that Hendrawan will move to Malaysia and will start from 1 July 2009. Hendrawan said that he has to be a professional and should think about his own family future ....
I wonder what became of Tri Kusharyanto. Perhaps the BAM should sign him on for XD. He could boost the existing Malaysian pairs
hahaha,,hope he wouldnt omg,,whata lucky mas!!! yeah, ithink he resign from pbsi because of the low payment
Hendrawan said that he' s going to be profe s sional and giving my be st for my family... ALL ABOUT MONEY!!!!!!!!
that's a great news indeed. perhaps he can come over to help lee chong wei to beat the mighty lin dan as well so he will be a coach in mas back up squad, what about teh siu bok??
Of course it is about the money. He and others also have to make a living to support the family. And not being squeeze dry their talent without any rewards. However to some, it may not be about the money. It is a joy of giving to others like some sort of returning the favor. But it must be done with a giving heart and unconditionally. But when things goes wrong and not as smooth as expected, then giving would have no meaning when there is no WIN WIN situation on both side.
It's a loss for INA badminton. But not a great loss, though. No hard feelings, but, as long as I can remember, INA MS achievements under him aren't quite successful either. Besides, there must be a bunch of HQ MS coaches out there...
Just think positive, At least another one have chance to take over MS and hopefully better than before, like Marleve took WS and we saw big progress on Maria and other players.
Today's not the Independence Era anymore. Patriotic, but unable to feed your wife and children, what's the point? I'm indeed a bit disappointed that we lose another good coach, but I think Hendrawan made a right decision. However, if it's true that Hendrawan's decision to move to Malaysia is solely because of money/financial problem, then it IS sad! Are PBSI already that poor they can't even afford to give decent salary to our coaches? :crying: Any idea who the most suitable person to replace him is, mister?
It is INA's loss that he can't coach for PBSI. But for the country, INA should be proud when Malaysia produces a World Champ because of Hendrawan. INA can boast that Hendrawan an INDONESIAN produces a champ. Just like Rexy. Look at a bigger picture.
what bigger picture??bigger picture for you malaysians, maybe...but certainly not us Indonesians. yes, by any luck if hendrawan manages to produce a world champ, the glory would still be credited to mas and ONE Indonesian...not all of us. Moreover what does that leave us Indonesians?no world champ for us then?
I have posted some names in post#17 (include WS & Double coach) but the problem is on the clubs when no coach re-generation in there.
It's made public in the Msian press : BAM hires Hendrawan By By K.M. Boopathyboopathy@nst.com.my 2009/05/19 THE BA of Malaysia (BAM) has acquired the services of Indonesian coach Hendrawan to arrest the slide in the national singles squad. BAM secretary P. Ganga Rao, in a telephone interview from Guangzhou yesterday, said Hendrawan will assume his position as one of the national singles coaches beginning on July 1. Although BAM has been wanting to hire him since March, Hendrawan was tied with the Indonesia BA (PBSI) and only signed a two-year contract after the conclusion of the Sudirman Cup on Sunday. "Hendrawan was a top class international and has proven to be a quality coach. His work has shone over the last three years with the Indonesian team. He will add strength to our bid to improve the standard of the Malaysian singles," said Ganga. "We have been interested in Hendrawan for some time but only made a serious approach in March but he was tied with his duties until the Sudirman Cup. He has already resigned from PBSI and will start with us on July 1." Ganga added: "We are looking at utilising his expertise especially for the 2012 London Olympics and we will leave it to national singles head coach Rashid Sidek to short list the players who will work with Hendrawan. "Hendrawan will probably be in charge of a mixture of elite back-up and back-up shuttlers or he could even be utilised in the women's singles department." Hendrawan, the 2000 Sydney Olympics silver medallist and 2001 world champion, has been guiding the likes of Sony Dwi Kuncoro and Simon Santoso since 2005 and was instrumental in guiding Maria Kristin Yulianti to the women's singles bronze medal in last year's Beijing Olympics. Hendrawan is known for his systematic style of coaching which came about after he obtained a degree in business management before turning to coaching in 2003. Elite back-up players like Liew Daren, Tan Chun Seang, Chong Wei Feng and Arif Latif have stagnated of late and this could be the targeted group Hendrawan will most likely work with. http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/Tuesday/Sport/2560479/Article/pppull_index_html
Yes, thats why Hebdrawan will be in charge on the back-ups......for near future....... What a great news for MAS......Hendrawan was a great player, and a great Coach as well..........Welcome to Malaysia.......Hendrawan....
Hendrawan coming to Malaysia Ex-world champ Hendrawan to chart singles players’ success KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia have hired former world champion Hendrawan of Indonesia to help revive the fortunes of the country’s singles players. And the 37-year-old Hendrawan will officially start work with the national team in July. He will be the third reputable Indonesian to be part of the team to chart the fortunes of Malaysian badminton. Rexy Mainaky is the current chief coach of the doubles players and Indra Gunawan was the singles coach of the Malaysian men’s team in 2001 and 2002. Hendrawan will work with national singles chief coach Rashid Sidek to find solutions to unearth more singles talent and to produce world-beaters. Currently, there is a wide gap in standard between world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei and the rest of the men’s elite and back-up players while Wong Mew Choo and Julia Wong are the only two Malaysian female players thus far to have attained world status. The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) secretary, P. Ganga Rao, confirmed yesterday that Malaysia had engaged the service of Hendrawan. “We are happy that our deal with Hendrawan has come through. The BAM have been quite concerned with the critical situation in the singles. It is our hope that he will be able to help us to strengthen our singles department,” he said. The BAM had been eyeing Hendrawan for quite some time but they were only able to get the 2001 world champion to sign on the dotted lines without problems after he quit as a coach with the All-Indonesia Badminton Association (PBSI) at the end of March. Hendrawan, however, has to fulfil his obligations with Indonesia at the just concluded Sudirman Cup in Guangzhou and also the upcoming Indonesian Open (June 16-21). Ganga added that the BAM would finalise the players to come under the charge of Hendrawan soon. “With Hendrawan in, we will have a strong coaching team in the singles department. The coaches will now have to come together and decide on who will be placed under the care of Hendrawan,” said Ganga. Besides Rashid, the other singles coaches of the national players are Misbun Sidek and Teh Seu Bock. Misbun has four elite players under his charge — Chong Wei, Mohd Hafiz Hashim, Kuan Beng Hong and Mew Choo. Seu Bock handles women’s players Julia, Lydia Cheah and S. Stephanie Shalini while Rashid deals with four back-up men’s players — Tan Chun Seang. Mohd Arif Abdul Latif, Liew Daren and Chong Wei Feng. It is learnt that Hafiz and Beng Hong are likely to be the two main players to be placed under Hendrawan. Ganga said that Malaysia hold high regards on the credibility of Hendrawan. “He has done wonders with the current Indonesian men’s and women’s singles players. He is knowledgable and is a well-spoken man. He is modest despite all the major achievements as a player and coach. We are looking forward to a great partnership with Hendrawan,” he said. Besides Hendrawan’s exploits in the individual championships, he is also known as a great team player. Hendrawan spoiled Malaysia’s party in the 2002 Thomas Cup Finals in China when he defeated Mohd Roslin Hashim in the deciding fifth match of the final tie. Probably, with Hendrawan now on the Malaysian side, there is greater hope that Malaysia, who will host the Thomas Cup Finals next year, will be able to regain the title last won in Kuala Lumpur in 1992.
