Necro-bump - I've just been sent a set of NS880 in the new packet... and it's completely different. Testing in the week.

I can't wait to hear about these strings again. I recently learned that VS 850 in the new packet are bit different than vs-850 from the old packets. Makes me wonder how these feel now compared to before.

The new VS850... my WISE was taking pretty much its full track to reach tension. Seems they haven't sorted that part out yet.

I find tension loss the same in both strings but the newer strings seem to feel a bit different from the older ones. I'm not sure if it's just be but I find the older strings are a bit more repulsive.

Looking forward to the new NS880 ti reviews!

Initial thoughts: the new 880 hits a bit harder than the 850, but doesn't have that magic feel or sound. Still very, very good, though, like a friendlier BG80.

880 holds tension better as well, obviously. Chewing gum would probably hold tension better than the 850.

I've got this next on my list, any updates from people that have used it?

880zti packs a punch, it has so much power. I think I'll go up 2lb next time though but I think I have a new current favourite string.

    im using the blue 880 on a brave sword 10 @ 27lb
it seems to be holding tension quite well, seems slippery to feel when touched
up close net shots seem quite controlled. smashes feel quite weak compared to vs850

I've tested many Victor strings recently. I really like NS880. I've found it responsive with plenty of life. Also there's very little string movement.

I also like 850 although it needs that extra tension.

Recently I have tested 760 and 650. 760 is .70 gauge and 650 is .66 gauge. I'm not a big fan of thinner gauge strings so didn't gel as well with 650 string. 760 is pretty nice, reminding me of BG65Ti.

Overall, I've been impressed with Victor strings. They tend to have a different feel at higher tensions. They are so much livlier.

I have some new Zymax to test soon but I am extremely impressed with Victor strings.

In contrast to Yonex strings, which tend to lose response the higher you go. VS850 at 32 is absolutely electric, but IME BG80 started losing power two pounds ago...

I've been using the NS880zti for a month now and it's holding it's tension really well. I strung it at 28lb and it's settled about a 1-2lb lower and stayed at that.

I've experimented with different types of string and different gauges, .68 strings suit me the best and I've used BG80, BG80P, VS850 and NS880zti within the last 4 months with NS880zti being my favourite.

I'm not as anal about numbers as you, I prefer to feel it. It must be a left hander thing, you know were are more creative.

So... that affected your English learning?

Because you couldn't see what was written on the blackboard because she kept accidentally erasing with her body when she turned? :p

Anyone know if there's a difference (other than the packaging) between these?

In front of me I have the old silver packaging 880zti and newer blue packaging 88zti both in yellow. To the eye, the string is identical including the silver/grey weave that goes through the string.
