Hmm, just curious.. ..what browser are you using??..I'm, strictly, using the latest IExplorer (6.0) both at home & work...When i click the Search button, it pops out that small search box..
errr.... i know i use internet explorer but i have no idea what version it is. is there a difference? i think, most probably, i am using the IE 7.
Is Javascript enabled on your browser? I just did a test by turning it off and the small area doesn't pop up - it jumps straight to the search page. Works fine for me.
i tried using mozilla firefox. that one worked fine. but i like the look and feel of the IE i am using now. *sigh* do i have to use mozilla from now on?
i cant find any javascript thingy in the security settings. all i can find is active X or something. forgive my ignorance on this matter. what's funny though is that all the other options like new posts, and today's posts, and member's list and even the quick links are working but not the search option.
To find out.. ..what version of IE you're using, just click on the 'Help' button above and then click on 'About Internet Explorer'..you should see which version of IE you're using..
yep, IE 7. that's the version i am using. i tried to find the java thingy and was told to upgrade my java. so i did. now the search option goes twilight zone. sometimes i click on it, the small box appear. other times, nothing happen. most of the time it works when i just clicked on a topic to read. then i clicked search and the small box appear. i read the topic and when i clicked search again, back to square one. this is baffling me to say the least.
Hmm.. ..sorry, i'm not using version 7 currently..Maybe it's got something to do with the version of IE we're using??..
im using IE7 and face the same problem on search click and quick links click ... i truly hope someone can help i did PM kwun but no reply on this :crying: :crying: :crying: somebody pls help !!! thanks a million ...
like azabaz_ipoh said, i cant find any javascript to enabled it :crying::crying::crying: ohhh ... pls help us ...
well, looks like *some* ppl with IE7 is having issues. but i have tested it myself and it worked for me. to see if you have javascript is simple, do you see the advertising on the left hand column? if not, then javascript is not enabled. if you see the advertising and you are still not seeing the search box, you can try go to: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/search.php for the time being...
oooppsss ... sorry kwun ... i saw the ad on L side guess i'll just need to use the link u gave thanks something better than nothing
Have a look at this lads: http://www.tranexp.com/win/JavaScript-enabling.htm#MSIE7 FYI, Java and Javascript are different things - don't get mixed up!
Thank you wilfred. i hope by lads, you mean ladies, because i am no guy and i believe so is susan. he he he he. i checked the javascript and it is enable. but still the search option kinda goes twilight zone on me. nonetheless, the method kwun mention still can work. so if i want to search, i simply open the search option in a new tab. just a little more work. no biggie.
