I can't wait to test this racket, although have the feeling we'll be waiting a while longer before it's launched in UK.

Pre-ordered 4 Z-Speeds today. The price is slightly below the Z-Force, and here in Canada, the MSRP is $300. but I'd sell it for about $239. Getting one for myself to try out...my go-to racquet has been the Z-Force since its debut...head-light and head-heavy...hhmm! Launching date is September 13th, so will post my personal non-professional review after.

I'm almost certain I will regret not waiting at some point. But not yet:).

    493 km/h is obviously yonex's marketing bs...
how did they manage to get such a number? probably by using the high speed camera to track the velocity of the tip of the shuttle rather than the center of mass. once the shuttle has stabilized, the speed of the tip and the speed of the center of mass are equal, but before that happens, there is a lot of room for fudge factors
actually it's the moment of inertia about the handle of the racket that matters the most.
the balance point and total weight determine how the racket feels when you hold it, but the swing speed is determined by the moment of inertia about the handle.

Sometimes I think I will never understand people. Yonex always makes these claims and not even the pros can translate them onto the court in an actual match, and yet even though people say they also don't believe the claims have any real world benefit, they still - in the back of their minds - think it will.

Then they rush out and buy the things, then forget all about the claimed performance increase because they have their new shiny bit of gear and they're happy.

    It's a very puzzling human trait :)

That's pretty much exactly what I said....when holding the racket still, you notice the moment relative to your hand, when swinging it, you feel the moment of inertia. Not sure what your point is.
Swing speed is influenced by quite a few factors, the m.o.i. being just one of them.
