I read that Chen Jin injured his left leg slightly yesterday when playing Gao Huan. He first felt the discomfort during G2 and the doctor was called in to examine him but he decided to carry on and finish it which turned out to be a grueling three-setter.

Today he felt not in good condition to play in view of his injury and fatigue caused by the protracted match, and didn't want to risk aggravating it,hence the withdrawal.

That's too bad that Chen Jin got injured. I felt that he did a good job to make it to the semi-finals.

On the plus side, WZM will earn some good points, and he'll have a real test in the finals against Chen Long probably.

I think the case is just different about those walkovers in the French Open by Sony, Santoso and INA WD.... coz they're all withdrawn from the very first time (not even playing in that tournament) but Chen Jin played so well yesterday against his compatriot and no signs of getting any injury but now he's doing the walkover. It's surely not only this time that any kinds of suspicious walkovers have been practiced by the CBA but many times... of course this is certainly not a good example to demonstrate the spirit of sportsmanship anyway... even Wang/Yu got no sanctions at all from the CBA for committing an OG match-fixing.... BWF should undertake decisive steps to address this.

Yeah .. I noticed too many walkovers from Chen Jin.
Either he is injury prone or acting on team orders or maybe both.

One thing is for sure, he need to bulk up fast as there are tons of youngsters waiting to take over his place.

Yeah.. Even i have seen wang/yu playing badminton already.. Did CBA take any steps against them or not because of their own faults but only due to CBA insisted them in doing that???

    Fully agree.
CJ received too many walkovers and now it's the time to repay.

    Who are the winners?

Players playing as side wingers and giving walkovers

to help team mate advance further are just following team order :D

CBA is famous for such act

and each and every of their player has their turn to be side winger or as the chosen one :D

    Having eyes we see not,
    Having ears we hear not...

It says much about the lack of confidence in the CBA camp that they need to prop up the perennial pretender also-ran WZM in this fashion. If WZM is their only hope for the future apart from CL, the CBA is in deep ****

Feel sorry for CJ, though; he's one of the main victims of the LD era, not knowing what his next role in the drama will be...

hmm, maybe the 1st reason, but also maybe the 2nd one. :D

he indeed might have WDN to give WZM more points, and it's a very likely reason as CBA has too many suspicious withdrawals. but as coins have two sides, he also might decided to WDN trully because of his condition and don't want to risk more than it supposed to be. which reason to believe, i think it's up to which one anybody want to take. but what a person think and believe still can't assured that to be the truth. afterall, the true fact behind all of this only known by CJ himself. :D

Anyone know what kind of injury affected him? Is it a serious one or will he be back soon, soon as in Hong Kong open?

Edit: Saw he hurt his leg. Still, will he be back for Hong Kong? Or will he take it easy for a while?

I doubt that giving WZM extra points is the reason for Chen Jin's withdrawal. If that were true, they would've had Chen Long lost to WZM as well.

Walkovers among Chinese players are a wonderful combination between ingenuity and duplicity. Sportsmanship is not always a commander in the sport, that's a fact...

Bao Chunlai with his good looks (and voice?) could retire early and go into modeling or acting.

What else can Chen Jin do? At 26,planning to get married and set up family and as he said(half-jokingly or seriously?) work towards Rio 2016. As such, he simply cannot afford consistently poor results or, worse still, injury layoffs. Even if he is thinking of becoming a coach someday,it's years down the road. Meanwhile,he had better show some creditable results, there's no free lunch.

It is not known whether he said it intentionally or not, if so, definitely he would have got some other back up plans to run his family:D in the near future (May be Private badminton academy or something like that):). Who knows?.. For a player who is in the top 5 , if he gives a walkover to a person who is not in the top 10 list wont be an easy task. His talent is going waste. I pity him:( BWF has to take steps in order to prevent the walkovers as well (genuine one like if the person is not well, should not be affected ). :)

If we see the pattern of what CBA has done in the past

and the strong possibility of chen jin as the next china top player,

we are actually witnessing the formation of CBA twin side winger :D
