Among the provinces in China, Jiangsu has consistently emerged as the best province in the national games. In fact, it produced one of the best players in the world: Yang Yang Zhao Jianhua Cai Yun Wang Shixian etc.. Lin Dan is the only player i think that originated from Fujian province and the same for other provinces which have their own crop of finest players. Guangdong and Liaoning (Manchu province) are the other strong provinces that come close to Jiangsu.
interesting topic. i absolutely can not differntiate their look as related to ethic. more to come to read.
Wang Lin has a big eyes of which Chinese normally has small eye. So what ethical she is? Where she come from?
It depends on which province she comes from. From the looks of it, she does strike as one of the ethnic minorities residing in the southern China... She could be a Miao/Yi/Zhuang or even relate to the ethnic group in Thailand/Vietnam genetically.... I must admit she does look a little "South East Asian"
Wang Yihan's relatives purportedly. Apparently she is not the only child raised in the family. The law allows ethnic minorities to have more than one child.. I suppose Wang Yihan could be Manchurian similar to Wang Xin but from a different Jurchen clans Look at the photo and observe their traits..

I thought this thread is on Chinese diversity but upon closer reading it borders more on ethnicity and which ethnic group (narrowly speaking, race) produces the best badminton genes. Discussing it from a purely academic point of view is fine, however,if we are not careful,it may go to extremes, leading to justification of eugenics with serious ethical implications, specifically racism. On the other hand, eugenics is not all negative,it can be scientifically useful and humanistic...(I stop here) I'm not saying it could be as grave as this - remember what the Nazis tried to do with eugenics and led to the Holocaust - but do be careful. On a lighter note, the human race has a common ancestor, the apes.Never mind if you don't agree with me,I wrote this post just to sound a word of caution, not to start an argument. Peace
I hope the discussion does not gravitate to chest thumping of superiority of their respective tribes. The chinese are a superb team with great players in their ranks. The unity in diversity that we see in china is really remarkable and for a country had suffered so much in recent decades has become an industrial giant. I still remember old pics of china where the streets were full of cycles and nowadays it seems that everyone owns an expensive car. Just my opinion, hope no one is offended.
