    Don't get me wrong... I am a great admirer of Wong Peng Soon.

    Seriously, I sometimes imitate WPS. :):):) I would dress like him (wearing long white pants with a hand towel tugged-in at my waist to wipe my sweaty hand) and I would play Badminton concentrating in precision and controlled strokes. :):):)

    As for Dato Eddy Choong, he doesn't need the prize monies because he comes from a rich family. In fact, he is still now driving a more expensive car than LCW can presently afford. :eek::eek::eek:

    A tall order for LCW. Anyway, I believe he must have been satisfied with what he has. WC and OG is a bonus. ;)

    As for China, I prefer Yang Yang coz he won MO, IO and SO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yang_Yang_(badminton) ;) A more humble person compared to LD. At those days, there were no airconds. You can imagine the heat... sauna.. ;)

    LCW is thinking of going independent with Misbun Sidek

    .
    Now that LCW is thinking of going independent with Misbun Sidek, I think this thread's topic will become even more interesting.

    how long have LCW and LD maintained World No.1 respectively (in number of weeks / months)?

    did LCW keep a longer world No.1 than LD so did you speak?

    I hope LCW will reconsider his decision. If he left national team, his chance of remain in world no.1 will be very slim. Look at Taufik and we know why.

    .
    :confused::confused::confused:

    But Taufik has improved in his performance after he has departed from PBSI, hasn't he?

    IMHO, Taufik is now much more relaxed without PBSI. I would also think that LCW would be more relaxed without BAM.

    I believe Taufik would advise LCW to go independent. :):):)

    Why players shine?

    .
    I posted this in another thread;

    Why players shine?

    IMHO, players shine because their coaches/associations make sure that they enjoy their sports (in training and at tournaments).

    As soon as players feel that their effort (to perform well) is not appreciated by their fans/coaches/associations, they will find themselves having extra obstacles standing in their way to shine.

    Chris-ccc,
    You are LCW's #3 fan if not the #1 or #2 fan, for all the things you do for him. Keep it up.

    .
    :D:D:D I am a fan of Badminton in general, not just for LCW.

    Regarding Mens Singles players, we are always returning to LCW, LD, TH and PG most of the time.

    Can't be helped; Because these 4 are still our top MS players. :):):)

    Sort of on topic, but I read a while ago on the Internet (just after OG08) that Peter Gade intended to retire before OG12. Is he still planning on competing in London, or is he retireing before hand ?

    LCW will probably remain in the top 2 before OG12, it depends on how many tournaments China enter. And how many WO LD has to give in order to get Chen Long and Chen Jin into the top 4.

    LCW played in 3 tournaments in January 2011 and yet he was able to give a good account of himself by reaching the final of the 2011 KO SS. His opponent LD was quite fresh and played only 7 matches in January (2 in Malaysia and 5 in Korea) and thus had a longer rest interval. LCW had to fly to Seoul in the night of 23 January straight after the 2011 MO.
    Moreover, LD had 2 Chinese coaches to help him in Korea but LCW did not have MS. Who knows what would have happened if MS was in Korea to guide LCW.

    If Misbun Sidek was there, LCW could have won

    .
    Agree. :):):) LCW has been over-worked.

    Also agree that if Misbun Sidek was there, LCW could have won. But it's history now.

    I shall be following LCW's (and LD's) matches in his next tournament (the 2011 AE)
