Wow how extraordinary Vita Marissa with her partner. I think, they're a good senior-junior pair from Indonesia. @Limsy No... Vita/Variella and Vita/Praveen are a professional player, they don't belong to PBSI.
I used an English translator on your statement but it didn't quite work. I'll hazard a guess on what you meant, though. Nah, me and LYD probably wouldn't work out because: 1. He doesn't play XD any more, does he? 2. I may be too tall for him; 3. I'm not Korean; and lastly number 4. If I went into badminton, I'd play singles where I'd at least be able to beat the likes of Nehwal, I'm sure.
If Lee CW continues to play like he did today against Hu Yun, and I presumed the other day versus Viktor Axelsen, who can stop him from taking the World Championship this August?
I dunno. At the Olympics, there was pretty much nothing between the two of them and with LD having come off a long break, I'd be surprised if he managed to win the WC. It used to be the case that LD was better than LCW but now? My money would be on LCW for the next six to eight months, especially considering his current form. LCW seems to have improved whereas LD has gotten worse since Beijing.
Yeah, I think it's too far-fetched to expect Lin Dan to peak within a few months after the long six-month break. Frankly, what with lesser drive and motivation for having done that been there, I'm not sure he can peak the third time in the run-up to Rio'16. OTOH, Lee CW is always most impressive against opponents he can outclass, giving his 100% to destroy them whereas Lin Dan often just do enough to beat his opponents and reserve his best for his archrivals. Still I feel the best chance for LCW to win a major like this WC is this year. Not forgetting Chen Long who is getting stronger and stronger and may soon pose a serious challenge to both LD and LCW, I believe. Also the age factor - don't expect LCW to pay the same fast, explosive badminton all the time which is his forte.
i notice LCW dives a lot in today's game, not sure if it's his style or just for show to the audiences
Sigh. Yet another injury, the bane of all sportsmen. Isn't it a little early in her career for Nozomi to be plagued by one? Gill Clark is absolutely spot on. The WS game is becoming a lot like that of the men's. All the twisting and pounding on the knees, and there is no way out but to just trudge on. O the sacrifices these athletes make for the sports that they love.
Heh. Had a laugh at that Although I'm rather sure you wouldn't be too tall - he used to play with Lee Hyo Jung after all, who is freakishly tall for a Korean woman Also, don't mind the pumped up Indian fans - Nehwal is pretty much the only hope for Indian Badminton, so criticizing her is a no-no. Although I wouldn't bet on her never winning a major, with all the years she's still got she's bound to get lucky some time. After all there is no domination by two rivals like there is (or was?) in MS...which is a shame too, as it would make WS at least a bit interesting
If Lin Dan is not playing in All England, I think his world ranking will drop to below 32. That means, if he is playing after that, he might : 1. Have to go through qualifying round in SS tournament. 2. be unseeded in most tournaments. 3. Not qualified for World Championship unless China decides not to send the maximum number of players for MS.
Mind you, Lin Dan is full of surprises. + He has the psychological advantage and virtually no pressure at all. He hasn't gotten all those WC/AG/OG/AE for no reason.
I don't see a need to reply to anyone who is blind sighted and jealous of other badm player success. Positive and balance comments are better than those "blinded by love and hated" people. If we can all ignore and stop replying to this person "imbalance" comment (assume this boy girl is "invisible"), this boy girl will die a natural death. Such immaturity baby! Play with LYD, you are not even qualified to be within 10 feet of LYD. He can smell your stinko 10 miles away.
