Hei Mr smart (who tell people to think but in fact a fat dumb donkey himself),
You have crossed the line mate. Is there anything on this forum when I and Taneepak attack you on a personal basis? Mind you all that putting an altar at home is reserved for our ancestors and religous believes. I wish only if i meet you personally i will surely smack your head into a toilet hole. Do you have an altar at your house with a fat dumb donkey picture on it?
If you want to debate, lets debate!! like an honour and respect.

Report says health care will cover more, cost more
By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR, Associated Press Writer Ricardo Alonso-zaldivar, Associated Press Writer
Fri Apr 23, 5:58 am ET

.WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law is getting a mixed verdict in the first comprehensive look by neutral experts: More Americans will be covered, but costs are also going up.

Economic experts at the Health and Human Services Department concluded in a report issued Thursday that the health care remake will achieve Obama's aim of expanding health insurance — adding 34 million to the coverage rolls.

But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs, raising projected spending by about 1 percent over 10 years. That increase could get bigger, since Medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, the report warned.

It's a worrisome assessment for Democrats.

In particular, concerns about Medicare could become a major political liability in the midterm elections. The report projected that Medicare cuts could drive about 15 percent of hospitals and other institutional providers into the red, "possibly jeopardizing access" to care for seniors.

Cooler, if you spend say $20 each time you play badminton, made up of $10 for court and shuttles, $5 for travel, and $5 for sodas and sweets.
How about increasing your court/shuttles cost to $14, travel $5, but cut your sodas and sweets to zero.
Yes, there will a big jump in court/shuttles fees of $4, a huge 40% increase. But don't look at this like a frog in a well. Look at the big picture.
The big picture is very different. Instaed of playing cheapy plastics that are meant for beach or park badminton, you get to play with real quality goose feather shuttles. Also, your total budget is now smaller by $1.

Let's just say. You Taneepak pays $20 each time you play badminton. Made up if $10 fir court and shuttles, $5 for travel, and $5 for dinner you cook yourself that night.
How about increasing your court/shuttles cost to $14. Travel $5. But borrow $4 for your dinner money.
Yes, there will be a big jump in court/shuttles fees of $4, a huge 40% increase. And you are in deficit $4 every time you play. Guess what, it is better not to play and you will be $20 a head or you can use plastic shuttles that will last 2x long as feathers. That way, you can still get by with some dinner money.
That is what Madam Curie did. Save on dinner and reuse lab equipments. Many great Polish academics did that too.

my point was medical costs can not and would never come down, it's a fallacy to believe so or naive enough to buy obama mathematics.

since u gave an example of feather vs plastic, i can say since i played feathers, my costs went up. U see, i found lower end feathers are craps, so i have to buy higher and higher grade with time. I even find victor blue and green champion are too lousy. Now i only trust premium grade of premium brand. Plastic playing is free because the club provides them.

Let me use a better analogy than your feather vs plastic. Remember when we invented computers and experts think workers will have more free time?? Wrong, we r working harder than before. With electronic storage, we are going to save tons of trees because we drastic reduce paper usage, wrong. Remember how improving fuel efficiency of cars and the world will use less oil? wrong. When obama say a publicly run health care will cost less than before? LOL, i say laughablely, wrong 2 times. Health care cost can not go down, private or public. Secondly, gov't run anything, costs goes up.

You are not looking at the big picture. The federal budget is just one piece of America's total budgets. If you consider all the total budgets of all Americans you will find some crown jewels, many stolen propert. If it is necessary for the government to spend $4 more, then it can get the same amount or even more from Americans who have been getting a free ride. It is one efficient way of "robbing" all the Toms who have been paying less than their fair share of taxes (just have a look at the Swiss banks bulging with maoney from Americans) and paying all the Peters, and even have some balance left over. Deficit, what deficit?

..aaahh, hmmm, so this is how a BO supporter or maybe a liberal responds to something that is simply a tease: with threat & violence...great, not a surprise really..
Debate? what debate when can't answer or avoiding the questions..

cooler, of course that's obvious. But those supporting the just passed H.C. law are trying to ignore, they know it full well but they believe having control of the taxpayers' money is better..

Mr. t, how in the world will the govt. get those money back from people who always get a free ride when those people can't even afford to pay the govt. back!...It doesn't matter if the govt. gets all the money from those people who don't pay their fair of taxes, the money still won't be enough..
Just cut the federal spending of the govt. and we'll see the deficit/debt slowly go down..
    U.S. needs a conservative president next..

As I have said earlier the US is coming out of this recession much better than the EU and Japan. This speaks for itself. The US will at least have a positive GDP growth of about 3.5% this year and maybe slightly lower in 2011. If not for the stimulus package and the recent Obama health care reform, the US government credit rating would put the nation at risk. This at least is now behind us, unless Americans start rioting all over the country.
In contrast we have Ireland, Iceland, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain who are being downgraded in their sovereign credit rating and are at risk. Even Germany, the UK, and France are not immune from a probable down-grading of their sovereign rating.
The US and Australia are the lucky western economies that are now from the danger zone.
So, why are Americans like those we have in this forum so misinformed? It gives other 3rd party observers an impression that the US is a gang land society divided into big warring factions, in the manner of "either you are with us or against us". No wonder, neither side can see the logic!

Sorry, but you missed the entire picture.
Yes, you live in a communist country. It might be OK for your gov to take your money just because it say so. We live in a different society where it is not OK to rob Peter to pay Paul legally. 2nd, Yes, US has a lot of resource. Does that give the gov the right to just sell them and pay for their spending spree? Yes, it can do that. But I believe you also know the chinese saying of "even if you live in a rich mountain, you sit and do nothing, eventually you will use up all the resource" (sit mountain eat empty. i just want to butcher those chinese saying once a while). So I am calling you a short sight and you missed the entire picture.

Of course it is not only ok but a moral imperative to rob Peter to pay Paul in the US.:)
This is because all the Peters rob everyone in sight and claim them as their own property. That is why the Peters cry foul when their stolen goodies are re-stolen from them to be given back to the Pauls who were robbed by the Peters. This is called recovery of stolen goods?
Now you know why guns are so easily available in the US. They are essential tools for daylight robbery.

ur logic is flawed. R u saying countries that prohibit gun ownerships, for example like all communist countries, have no robbery?? If only gov't can owns gun, you have suppressed state like burma, thailand, africa, iran, nazi germany, etc.
There are no country in the world which doesn't have guns. Countries that ban gun only take guns away from the good people, the evil doers WILL ALWAYS HAVE GUNS. Only suckers believe the premise that banning guns will lead to utopia state

Deficit, what deficit? Hahaha! That is a good one, oh lordy! We are talking US$1.6T this year and that is only the Federal deficit, and more deficits (or overspending) to come throughout BO's remaining term in office. When would all these deficit ends or USA implodes first? Just brushed it aside and spend like no tomorrow, so deficit, what deficit?:D I guess we are like 2 same magnetic poles, one fiscal responsible while the other a spender of public funding (I still question your motive, as I reckon you know all these spending will drive up the deficit, increase the debt to a point that USA is at the control of lenders esp CHN and where it will go from there, see Greece;)). I am beginning to see where you are coming from but you are entitled to your opinion.

the underlining secret is out, the smoking gun of why and what led to the the financial crises
    ________________________________________________________

SEC watching porn instead of financial industry
Wonder why they missed the financial crisis? Or Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme? A government report obtained by ABC News reveals that SEC employees were focused on something else: porn.

    By Husna Haq, /Correspondent / April 23, 2010

Just when it was beginning to repair its reputation with its high-profile case against Goldman Sachs, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) suffers another major blow: Senior staffers there were surfing Internet pornography – as much as eight hours per day, in one case – when they were supposed to be policing the financial industry.

Perhaps this helps explain why the SEC didn't see the financial collapse coming. Or did nothing to stop Lehman Bros.’ questionable accounting tactics. Or Bernie Madoff’s dubious “investing” strategy."

They were busy with other things.

The information comes by way of a disturbing SEC memo to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R), who requested that the agency’s internal watchdog conduct an investigation. ABC News broke the story on its Thursday evening newscast.

The investigation found 31 serious offenders over the past two-and-a-half years, 17 of whom were senior SEC officers with salaries ranging from $100,000 to $222,000 per year.

The AP reports these highlights –

    • A senior attorney at the SEC's Washington headquarters spent up to eight hours a day looking at and downloading pornography. When he ran out of hard drive space, he burned the files to CDs or DVDs, which he kept in boxes around his office. He agreed to resign, an earlier watchdog report said.

    • An accountant was blocked more than 16,000 times in a month from visiting websites classified as "***" or "Pornography." Yet, he still managed to amass a collection of "very graphic" material on his hard drive by using Google images to bypass the SEC's internal filter, according to an earlier report from the inspector general. The accountant refused to testify in his defense and received a 14-day suspension.

    • Seventeen of the employees were "at a senior level," earning salaries of up to $222,418.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R) of California, called the scandal “nothing short of disturbing that high-ranking officials within the SEC were spending more time looking at pornography than taking action to help stave off the events that brought our nation’s economy to the brink of collapse.”

But, as the Washington Post reports, it’s not the first time government workers have been caught accessing pornography on the job. Employees at the National Science Foundation, the National Park Service, and even a chief judge of the US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals have been caught looking at pornography or posting sexually explicit content on personal websites.

Obama may not be appreciated by some Americans but the rest of the world sees in him the brighter side of America. Some of the things he has put in motion that may escape the average American's understanding of their significance include two recent initiatives from Obama :

    1. The US president has initiated an exchange program with business people throughout the Muslim world. Right now the first such exchange program meeting, the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship, is underway in Washington, DC. This is a significant bridge between the US and the Muslim world. The regular exchange program will bring Muslim business people together with their American counterparts to promote business opportunities in Silicon Valley, technology, telecommunications, health care, education, infrastructure, etc.

    2. Until recently, only China has been sending their top government officials to US universities and government agencies in the US to study and learn what the US is all about, in politics, business, culture, eduacation, etc.
It was all one way traffic as the US did not think it had anything to learn from China by reciprocating such visits.
Obama has changed that and has for the first time sent the US's top 17 government officials to a prestigious Chinese university for a short course to learn the Chinese way. Twelve of the 17 delegates are Executives or Heads of government departments, including heads of Homeland Security and Commerce, the Aeronautics & Space Administration, and the Federal Executive Institute. The Americans were taught and also discussed with the Chinese scholars disciplines such as China's political system, Military Strategy, Energy Policy, etc. Sensitive issues were also discussed including Tibet, the 1989 June 4 Incident, Taiwan, and everything you can imagine.
The American participants said they have gained a lot of understanding of the broader Structure of the Chinese government and how things work so efficiently and well in China.
Perhaps the next step is to send some congressmen and women there. Who knows, there is nothing to lose. They may in fact come back and transform America.

Among one of many issues/ideas/topics discussed at the recent US-China Government Executive Global Leadership Course attended by 17 top US government department heads in China was about military threat to China. A top Chinese military strategist considered the US to be the biggest perceived threat to China.
Such frank exchange of ideas is very much welcome and will serve to reduce misunderstanding.

The EU is letting the world down. With Greece being downgraded to junk status and Portugal also being downgraded, the European contagion might spread all the way up through Spain, Ireland, Italy, and then the big boys Germany, France, and the UK.
This is the folly of not putting in a stimulus package the way China and the US have done.
