Badminton Men Double competition now is all talk about speed and power, Ah How physical condition is really does not allow him to do that. unless he slim down for another 10 kg, otherwise I am doubt any player want to partner with him...... :D

well Ah How can partner back Tan Boon Heong, but TBH begin slower than before as his smash is no longer hard and speedy anymore...

I dun think HTH/TBH will make any impact based on the present development of MD competition- speed and power. Based on Malaysia present pool of MD players, GVS/TBH may be a good choice to form a strong partnership after OG 12. These two players have the speed and power. What important is they seldom make mistakes (like KKK) also, they are pretty good in front of the net as well !

Malaysia really need a strong pair to make an impact in the world compettiton. there is no point to claim that we have amny talented players but when put them in the world stage, they can only be the second rank pairs.

as stated earlier, we have a large pool but click and compatibility is another questions, just like KOR team...
their pool of MD is good as well but so far only JJS/LYD stand out, while KSY/YYS and the rest have some minor hits here and there...
i think thats the concern for TKH now, KKK/TBH is not producing results, and TKH need to find a solution to come out with maybe one
    or two more capable pairing....

That's exactly how I feel too. From what I think and see through his actions, Tan KH seem to favour Teo KS quite a lot so Lim KW is like the underdog here. I think that they were already supposed to split after their terrible performance in the Malaysia SS where they got dumped by Hong Wei/Shen Ye in 3 games in the very first round. However, LKW gave a very good performance in the Thomas Cup, so...

Whether TKS/GVS or LKW/GVS, they are still not good enough to beat FHF/CY or JJS/LYD (or LYD/KSY after OG 12). What we need is a pair that can challenge and beat these pairs.

Sometimes the coach has to make cruel decision for the benefits of the country. There is no point to tell the world that we have a pool of talented pairs that 7 pairs of them can enter QF but eventually the champion is the NO.8 pair from other country...

Fu/Cai, JJS will retire after OG 2012. Kido/Hendra are independent now, they should still be around but at their peak anymore. CB and Guo also should be splitting as Guo is 27 or 28 already, should be retiring after OG 2012
They need to aim to beat other country's 2nd pairs like Bona/Ahsan, Ko/Yoo, Hong Wei/Shen Ye. LYD's new partnership will take time to build.

LKW's serve got problem and he is generally more nervy than Teo. Anyway, GVS/LKW are back in partnership for Axiata, TC finals and Australian Open. TKS is partnered with Ah How. Dunno what happened to OSH, they were withdrawn from Swiss.
TKH dont seem to favour the seniors as they are not molded by him(including KKK/TBH), he likes the youngsters more. Ah How is still around as strategy for team events, Ah How and TBH's chemistry never fade after all these years.:D

Just watch OW/Chooi play ! Very promising pair, despite their smaller physical size, they play quite aggresively! Very good attitude and stayed very focus... If Koo/Tan can have such attitude, they may have some hope...

Against Singapore, Chooi Kah Ming made so many errors and Ow had to cover him throughout most of the second and the third games. He really has to buck up.

Kim Her finally ready to stop experimenting with doubles partnerships.
    By KNG ZHENG GUAN

PETALING JAYA: National doubles coach Tan Kim Her is finally ready to stop experimenting and start building a squad for the future.
The only solid pair in the national squad are the much-maligned Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong combination as Kim Her has been experimenting with the other partnerships under his charge.
His job was made even more difficult when several players – Teo Kok Siang, Chooi Kah Ming and Mak Hee Chun – suffered injuries last year, thus forcing him to reshuffle the doubles line-ups repeatedly.
Now he has a full squad available at his disposal, following the successful returns of long-term knee injury victims Kok Siang and Kah Ming.
After tinkering with the line-up the past few months, Kim Her has finally decided to build solid doubles partnerships for the long run.
Goh V Shem and Lim Khim Wah, who have forged a strong combination and are currently ranked 29th in the world, will remain as a pair.
The changes, however, will see Tan Wee Kiong (pic) teaming up with Hoon Thien How while 2008 world junior champions Hee Chun-Kok Siang will be reunited.
The other pairs in the squad will be Mohd Lufti Zaim-Vountus Indra Mawan and the two world junior pairings of Nelson Heg-Teo Ee Yi and Kah Ming-Ow Yao Han.
“This is to build the squad to focus on the future. There will be no more trials and experiments,” said Kim Her.
“The Australian Open next week will be the last experimental tournament. After that, the players will have to stick to the combinations that we have decided.
“Most importantly, however, is that they’re happy with their partners and comfortable playing with one another.
“I’ve spoken to each player and they are happy with the arrangements.
“For now, we have an important four-month period where everyone in the doubles squad will help Kien Keat-Boon Heong in their preparations for the Olympics as well as the Thomas Cup.”

Kim Her also said that three pairs – Thien How-Wee Kiong, V Shem-Khim Wah and Lufti-Vountus – will be entered for the Asian Badminton Championships (ABC), which will be held in Qingdao, China, from April 17-22.

What help if they don't help themselves ? I remember during school days. (ONLY) Help those who help themselves.

Chooi just come back from injury.. give him some time. But i like their positive approach, whenever they have oppportunity , they will try to kill it ! Not like our two old old uncles... just know how to play fancy shots (mostly went outside or send into net), running to take the shots, lift, lift, lift ....defensive play, no stamina to last for 3 games...

Long run, I think will be dropped from the team. In an earlier article,TKH said he cant possibily put a 29 yr old for OG 2016, Osh same age with KKK actually. But - with MD dept so competitive, no outstanding results, older ones lose out. They retain ah how also I think cos he useful for team events
