OK, thanks. Looks like experience is going to prevail over youth for this one.

How very interesting, Yao Jie and Eric Pang are a married couple and Yao Jie double up as his coach for his match against Dieter Domke. Nice to see.

Perhaps you should take a hike in the Black Forest.
You may find that there are more than just cakes and cuckoo clocks :D.

Not bad, another entertaining match on display. Seems Eric will come through and maybe wins the title tomorrow; he impresses me a little more than Dicky.

Any one knows whether Eric and Dicky are Dutch-born or emigrants?

It turns out the host nation, The Netherlands, are doing well with one title assured, the MS, and two others in the running, the WS and WD, both of which having the possibility of an all Dutch affair. We'll soon know the answer. A refreshing change.

    MD FINAL
    Markis Kido/Alvent Yulianto Chandra
vs Gan Teik Chai/Ong Soon Hock - it's quite bizarre to know that Alvent's last Open title was in 2004 when he partnered Luluk Hadiyanto and rapidly rose to become INA's no 1 MD at that time. I still remembered how they beat Fu/Cai and Erikson/Hansen to win the Indonesia and Singapore Opens in 2004. Since then, it has really become a dry spell for Alvent. I hope he can break this drought today with Kido, who's aiming to complete a whole set of GP-GPG-SS titles this year (after a GPG title in Australia and SS title in Singapore).

Yup, after XD and WD failed to cruise into last round. MD final is the only one match of 5 finals today who doesn't involve European players.

Home shuttlers have secured 2 titles here in MS & WD, possibly to add 1 more through Judith.

Interesting, Czech 20-yr-old Kristina Gavnholt takes the WS title overcoming Dutch hope Judith Meleundijks denying the host of a 3rd title having secured the MS and WD.

Finally,30-yr-old Eric Pang, whose father I heard the commentator said was a Singaporean coach (does it mean Eric is of Singapore descent?), prevailed over 34-yr-old Dicky Palyama, whose father was from Canada if I heard correctly and had won their previous three encounters. It was a comprehensive victory for Eric this time by 21-14,21-10.

Indeed, I am happy that Alvent Yulianto Chandra can finally win another GP-level title with his new partner.

It has been a fruitful few weeks for INA players, with titles in the Vietnam & Dutch Open GP as well as Indonesia & Chinese Taipei Open GPG.

Yup, finally Kido/Alvent won their first title as new collaboration :)
Next, we'll see INA players performance in back-to-back SSP & SS circuit...
