Your description of what you want sounds exactly like a Kason F9 which I played with recently. Not sure which Adidas comes close.
The AdiPower Pro is slightly stiffer than the F9.

    Difficult but not impossible.
Yonex has been around for ages but they seem to have lost a lot of market share in the last 5 years to Li-Ning and Victor.

Both Li-Ning and Victor have sponsored 2 notable teams (i.e. China and Korea respectively) and I think if Adidas are serious about the badminton market, they should strive to sponsor a team of similar stature (I'm thinking Malaysia; Japan would be very happy to stick with Yonex; Indonesia have Victor/Li-Ning/Yonex sponsoring their best players at the moment)

Ah. My wallet cries. The AP Pro is nearly twice as expensive as the Precision 88 :D For the price of 3 AP Pro, I could get 4 P88 plus a load of other stuff... :D
But I'll sure try. No sense playing in a pretty shirt with a racket that doesn't suit me when I could've had a better one :)

Have a read through previous pages on this thread. In addition, have a look in the racquet reviews sub forum.

That's a great price on the Precision 88. Any stores that ship overseas?

But then again, once shipping is factored in, it won't be much less than 195USD.

Aren't those RRP's by any chance?? AP Pro is 140 over here and at badumania 145 (down from 160 RRP) and the Prec Tour is 100 (and used to be a lot cheaper still when buying more than one but I see they are no longer offering that )

No, those are shop prices. Mx80 was sold at 169 here, JJS even 179 in some shops...

The swing wt data on Adidas rackets at at700.com
    http://www.at700.com/thread-20352-1-1.html

If actual wt = swing wt, then that racket is "even balanced" with bp around 295mm like Arc 10/11.

You can get it in GTA too. Just look up Yo's Badminton on Facebook and he'll hook you up.

Prices for the top of the line is just only $10-15 less than top of the line Yonex. A bit much for a company that wants to gain some marketshare, imo.

That's true, they're just starting up, but the prices already make them seem like 'brand' name rackets o_O
I'll want to try a racket or two first, not to keen on buying something without personal input.

The problem is that it's very difficult to go upmarket once you've set your top end price without having some added benefits, like some amazing technology or big name pro-endorsement

Without big name sponsorship Adidas is going to have problems in the Asian market that is more susceptible to the influence of pro-endorsements and less keen to embrace 'the little guy' unless there is a price advantage.

So basically they have to price themselves high and hope for the best. They're hoping their brand has some leverage just because of the sheer size more than anything else.

I don't understand how they're measuring swing weight. The numbers should be in the high 30's - low 40's, not 80something.

Oh, they're really actually measuring with a swing wt machine... for tennis rackets I suppose since there's none designed specifically for badminton rackets.

What I measure with a scale is just so called "head wt", something I put a name to for lack of one.
