    that's the motivation.

and i think you mean, "if pulling the second cross, and leaving out the first, results in tension loss on the first cross" ?

According to some of the studies and forum posts I've seen, pulling a string with a 15 degrees angle (which usually happens when you can rotate your turn table 360 degrees) causes a 5-7% tension loss due to the friction with the grommet.

The friction with main strings is also another ~5% tension loss. Considering the friction is happening on 2 strings at the same time for the double pull, there would be about 15% tension loss total. That is just what I've read and mostly applies to tennis so take it with a grain of salt.

Also, I thought this would be a good place to discuss the resultant tension after a pull, but if you don't agree, please delete this post :p

Thinking on, both crosses would probably suffer - they both experience twice the usual friction on a single pull. I've avoided double-pulling for this very reason, so it'd be nice to see if I'm right (and, if so, by how much:D).

    its probably too late now.
Wouldn't be better if you release the video with the readings blanked out then we might get a better chance to get it right

    added the Info video!!!

the contest is now significantly more exciting because now we have 2 sponsors who are sponsoring some exciting prizes!!!!

    - Badminton-Nation.com, the exclusive Li-Ning USA distributor is giving the winner a Performance Li-Ning shirt.

    - MyBadmintonStore.com is giving the winner a pack of the brand new NBG99 string!

and this is in addition to the Ashaway Zymax string that AshawayUSA.com gave me.

Maybe I should enter the contest too. those prizes looks very attractive.

no sound. i was babbling on talking about the method and i later realized if i had done it coherently i will have to include the whole length of the video and that will end up 5 mins and bore everyone to death. so i made it short and took out the sound!

yes. Awesome to have sponsors! both www.badminton-nation.com and www.mybadmintonstore.com owners are also regular BC readers as well!

Since I still have one try left and thought that the tension loss from the knot and b8 grommet were going to be calculated (somehow o_O), I'll update my values.

    1) 28.2 lbs (.2 for added flavour :p)
    2) 25 lbs
