^^Really depends also..^^ ..on how much they really want a taste of a Gold medal; for some, how much they really want another taste of the it..
Looks like we'll go home with no title this time Nova/Liliyana and TH will be our last hope to reach best result here...
well done sony!you make us proud. i think it will be almost impossible for sony to beat LD tomorrow as he is pounding with confidence and amazing skills+stamina. it looked to me like he's on steroids or something right now i believe that nova/butet is our best hope of bringing a title home. taufik's opponents are much to tough for the current state that he is in.
I agree with you in general... but I still think we have a 10% chance of getting one title... Sony's steroid is his new marriage! He now has to think about his family's future... "I need that World Championship title nowww! When I negotiate for a contract next time, I can be in a better bargaining position." Sony thinks...
I think, in the end we will see: 3 INA MS in the quarterfinals 2 INA MS in the semifinals 1 INA MS in the finals Can't complain too much...
Hey Guys, What's happend to Chandra Wijaya, has he retired or something? It seems that apart from Kido/Setiwan, no quality MD is comming from Indonesia. I remember only few years ago Indonesia dominated MD and also MS.
What happened to Mr. Wijaya??.. ..yes, he's officially retired from the National team. But he's still playing as an independent player. Last time i heard, he was playing & coaching in Japan.. INA MD dept. is undergoing a regeneration process..
so indonesia have nova widianto/butet in the xd final tomorrow.it will be interesting to see their match agaisnt the danish pair
Yes, they are very much still in progress and thanks goodness the Domestic Circuits give them the opportunity to hone their skills against veterans like Flandy Limpele and Trikus Haryanto. Despite their semi-retired status, these oldies are still having fun and it is incredibly hard to beat them as some of the young guns have found recently in the 4 back-to-back domestic and IC tourneys we had in the past 1 month, from Tegal, Surabaya, Jakarta (Astec), and now culminating at the Sirnas Bali yesterday. I hope the young guns (esp in MD and XD) can be introduced to international tourneys rapidly so that they can test their skills against foreign oppositions soon. The Singapore Int Series & Malaysia Int Challenge will be excellent grounds for them to do so!
Candra doing the commentating for the WC??.. ..really??..or just an in-studio analyst for Vision1 cable??..
I hope the depth spreads into MS & WS (and WD) too. With Taufik almost bye-bye, Sony marries, Simon going nowhere, and Tommy is so-so, our condition MS is in red alert. Similarly in WS, with Maria still injured (though, even if she 100% recovers, I doubt she'll be back into OG bronze mode again), Firda seems 'mentok', and our back-ups still haven't shown progress, we have no reliable WS at present... WD, well, indeed Nitya/Grace & Shendy/Meili are in top 10, but we need WD who are able to beat top pairs (aka CHN pairs). Anneke/Anisa may give some light, but that's all about it... Ah, doesn't that count as 'commentator' as well?
I think, esp. in XD, as he himself said, Nova gets old and need enough rests. Butet should find her new partner soon. What about Hendra Setiawan/Butet? Cheer up, INDO-NE-SI-A ! World badminton needs your boom-up again.
I pray hayom or tommy or andre will be qualified for WC next year... (i must pray so hard for that) It so boring that INA always depends on Sony, Simon and Taufik for WC and Thomas Cup..
Forget about Tommy..he ahs no motivation now...this is 2nd tme or 3rd he withdraw...first in NZ, he has personal engagement....
