I think I will get MX 80 after I get my bonus this year.. N90 will go into my rest room , as Lin dan no more playing competitively .. Current racket now : 1) BS 9 2) MX 80 End of the year 3) BS LYD Soon
You have clearly not quite come across Ferrerkiko and his love of all things Lin Dan before. One of my friends who is a very good player chooses his rackets primarily on colour. To each his own as they say (in England). I too am interested in the MX80 returning to UK shores. The MX70/ London isn't quite the same, it doesn't feel as direct. Admittedly they are easier to use on an a tired day but the MX80 makes me feel a lot more involved with hitting the shuttle as opposed to the former which bends too much so loses a bit of feel and control. My one MX80 is getting lonely on it's own in the racket bag, even with an MX London for company
Sevex: Have you tried or considered the Precision Pro? I have MX80 and MX70 and find the P Pro to be just as direct as 80 but with less stiffness making power very easily accessible.
mx80 with what string have nice feel? i tried vs850, is nice but seriously lose tension very last within 1-2 weeks tension lose
Just for the fun of it, I played with my previous MX80 last night, after having changed to MX70 and P Pro as my current go-to. Wow! I've forgotten the incredible immediacy, directness, and accuracy of this thing! No other racket I've played with can come close to it.
That's why I want some more MX80's I did exactly the same thing as you only with an MX London and PP Tpro. The only problem is as soon as I get a bit tired power gradually reduces. But with a bit more fitness and strength training it should be fine. It is certainly a racket worth getting better for.
Yah.. . mx80 is that addictive! You should also give the P Pro a swing... It's just a tad less stiff, a tad less accurate, making it more accessible in power, but also very direct feel as mx80.
What string would you guys recommend for occasional nylon play at around 23lbs tension? Also, what is the most effective workout routine for training the endurance required to tame this racket?
Agree with all of them... MX80 is very directed. Very suitable for playing double in my opinion, due to its agility and able to execute sudden explosive shot for surprising our opponent.
That's two new MX80's ordered courtesy of Ben Very helpful as usual, even on a Saturday. Visor I could try the PPro but I am desperately trying to reduce the number of rackets I own and also trying to stop buying loads to try out. So far this year I am almost breaking even with number of old rackets sold to number purchased. 4 sold, 5 purchased. I would be lying if I said the PPro and Revelation weren't tempting me but the MX80 is a racket I feel very at home with at the moment. Even if it is somewhat challenging on days I am tired. To get stronger try doing shadow exercises, drives, clears etc with a racket cover on your racket. Most importantly make sure you have the correct technique first as that will make more of a difference than raw strength. To extract the most power have good footwork and speed around court to get behind the shuttle so you can put your whole body into the shot, that makes a huge difference. Personally I string my MX80 with BG80 at somewhere between 24-26lbs depending on how fit I am. But string choice and tension are very personal. For me that tension and string feels pretty unbelievable if you get things dead centre of the sweet spot and progressively worse if you don't... In other words it rewards you for playing well. But most people don't like this all or nothing approach. Somewhere around 22-24lbs is a good tension for most "average" local league players in the UK. String choice is up to you.
