what do u mean by wrong way?? please explain. cuz im always watching them string. i dun string myself so i dun really know wuts rite wuts wrong.
One of the worst events by them was stringing the rackets in the wrong sets of holes. For example, if you have a shirt in front of you now, and usually a shirt has many buttons. Then, what will happen if you mis-place the buttons? Left#1 should go to Right #1, L#2 should go to R#2, and so on. If you place L#1 to R#2, L#2 to R#3...and so on, you will have your shirt in the weird way and it's very noticeable. What they did is the same. They strung the whole rackets with cross-string running to the wrong hole. (1 hole down at the right side), and they didn't notice until they finished the stringjob. To me, as a stringer, this should never happen in any practice, not to mention they are running a business out there. "Careless" is the only word I can describe on this event. I was the one who stood there and watched them done this terrible thing (if my memory is correct, it was on a wilson racket) and I will never bring in any racket to that shop for stringing. This is just one story and there are many others.
wow.. that sounds REALLY bad for the racket. but so far it hasnt happend to me ill just keep going there until it happens and maybe start questioning htem lol. when did u go there newayz??
I went there last summer. You can buy shuttles, shirts, or small things from there as they offer a great selections on accessories. However, when it is related to rackets or strings, I will not recommend them.
hmmm.. well i guess ill keep going there, cuz i have quite a good relationship with the ppl there, so they give me HUGE discounts. its probably worthit in the long run for me i go there about once a month, which is after both my racket's strings have broken
Well, you can always check with Yonex-TW's site for dealer info. http://www.yonex.com.tw/ The site is pretty new and still under construction, but some of the info should be helpful to you. (If you see errors , let me know so I can tell them to fix it)
The best badminton shop that I have been in Taipei is at Min Shen East Road Section 5. It's a small shop but the service and price are excellent. It's a family run business with dad, mum, son & daughter in law and lots of children normally. Really nice people. Just bough 3x AT800 DF for me and an oversea friend for NTD 3600 each incl. of string (from BG80, BG66, BG65 TI and some new imported Yonex string, which is suitable for high tension). If you buy lots of things, they really give you good discount & freebies. The string job is very good since they use a electronical stringing machine. Will go to find the exact address for you guys.

It was under development for a long time but never got released. The original designing company had some problems and stopped the development. However, the database is still somewhat weird and the site needs more work. Make sure you call before you go or the address on file could be out-dated. The site finally went online couple weeks ago and the updating is still undergoing.
Yes they are very friendly people. Had a nice chat with them and found out they had considered to migrate to Singapore and set up shop here. Competitive prices for badminton clothing and accessories.

Sorry for activating an old thread... My sis will be going to taipei this week.. wonder if I were to ask her to get a yonex racket NS9900 for me will be a good choice from "flying dragon jumping tiger" and "song shan" as mentioned earlier. I'm afraid my sis will ended up getting a fake racket in return.. so anyone can advice if they are only selling genuine stuff there? And.. any nice people out there can help me to check out the price for that racket upfront? Million thanks!
I'm just back from Taipei and definitely recommend the 2nd shop. 张文彦 松山体育文具用品有限公司 (02)27624644 台北市松山路340号 (永春捷运站5号出口) Mr Zhang Song Shan Sports and Stationary Pte Ltd Taipei, No. 340 Song Shan Road Take the blue line to YongChun Station, take exit 5, turn left, then left again along Song Shan Road for about 2 blocks. Opening hours: 11am - 10:30pm. I find his prices reasonable (you probably can get cheaper if you shop around a bit more), place is convenient, and he is a really good, knowledgeable and helpful stringer. Strings with an ES5 Pro (seems quite common in Taipei somehow). Sells Yonex and Victor. My ArcZ strung by him with BG80@27lbs was immediately playable. Note: After August, the shop will move to No. 318 Song Shan Road... that's about 10 shops further up the street.
