If the actual racket looks as good as in photoshop, it would be quite a feat.

Touche, never believe what you see in pictures sent by a man with CS4. We need a live testimony!

I think either one is good. Pick one and go. Sure there are always things you can add/change, but if you keep doing it the launch will just keep getting pushed back. You can always make version 2 later if anything or a special limited edition run.

No, the orange in the original concept is 'Arancio Borealis', which is this......

I'm already impress with the previous design but what DIMCOMER say its true, get the plan going. Colour can be change from time to time :p. A racket like bravesword ... would be in a running with victor if the quality and price are affordable~

It's a good colour, but you realize that car has some good carnauba wax to give the "wet" look, I don't know if paint plus clear coat will do the trick for your racket.

It's the lighting that gives the effect. I have a bike the same Colour, and it flips to gold really nicely.

Doing this in Alias would be super dumb. Long term, if the thing takes off, I'll design a racket from scratch and then I'll bust out the 3D software, but until then, Illustrator is king.

Okay, first of three batches of samples have landed, and are strung and ready to play.

Two rackets first up. Both from well known Taiwanese manufacturer. One design is a 'sword' style design in 1k woven, and the other is more similar to a 'meteor' style design in full Ti mesh. Specs are not as per my requirements as they are literally brand new as yet unreleased models from another brand straight off the production line, but the designs are solid and the quality is right where I want it to be.

    Specs

    Sample 1. 'Sword' - Net BP 294mm / 95g / Medium flex / 88 hole / VS850 @ 26lbs
    Sample 2. 'Meteor' - Net BP 288 / 93g / Medium flex / 76 hole / VS850 @ 26lbs

I actually like the designs of both, but the 'Sword' is more in line with what I'd like to put out there - just a pity the spec isnt a bit closer to what I want.

Hole drilling on both is a bit 'wrong' and needs some rationalising - I'd go for an 80 hole system I think.

I like your proposed specs better..

EDIT: Just relized that it's the NET BP and weight you have posted. So what is the dry weight and BP?

That colour is awesome!! It looks more lively than what the VTZF-LTD uses based on the pics ... (assuming it is gold, which it looked like on another screen)

The colour on that sample racket is a brushed Aluminium type colour. It's not my colour or design - as I said in my post, these are non-proprietary head shaped rackets from the manufacturers' stock. I only have them so I can gauge quality and see if the actual design is something I could base my racket off.

The dry specs (no overgrip, no string) are

    Sample 1. 'Sword' - Dry BP 284mm / 85g
    Sample 2. 'Meteor' - Dry BP 287mm / 89g

The 'Meteor' style racket feels better as supplied, but the 'Sword' design is the one I'd like to use.

So the sword gained 10g and the meteor gained 6g?

8g vs 6 (85>93 vs 89>85g). 'Sword' has denser string pattern....and maths and typing are not my strong points.

I'll be playing comp on Monday night with both rackets. Can't wait! :)

And hopefully I'll have the first batch of stealthy samples at the end of next week.....and another batch the week after.

    Exciting times!
