Herry P., the Indonesian MD coach is very kind to coach the non-pelatnas pair of Yonathan/Hendra Apriadi.

If all goes well, Sindhu Vs Yihan should be a mouthwatering contest, provided Sindhu has learnt from his mistakes from their previous encounter.

Players from countries not known to play regular badminton are giving tough time to the regulars.

Another upset at the expense of the Indonesians, Gunawan/Dasuki are out. This is the WC, it's normal to expect the unexpected. Perhaps more surprises to come as we go along.

Marin is a youing, rising European star, I'd expect her to take this one from Firdasari.

Of all the players on the circuit, they deserve the title of 'up and coming' the most. Their form for a new partnership is consistent improvement. I think they are too new to go past the q/final but you never know....

Firdasri appears too stressed up; otherwise she might be able to make her experience count, probing Marin's game for weakness(es) and exploiting them, if possible.

I am not expecting much from her. She is still teenaged girl . Its her first world championships. She will learn more experience from this championships. I am sure about that.

Poor JYJ. Surprised with whats happening to her. She definitely isnt so out of league as per her ranking suggests. Is it the CHN policy of supporting 3 top players neglecting/ making escape goats of rest there in place? From once amongst the Top 5 players she seems to be going into oblivion and youngsters are given more look at.

    How cruel life can be...

There should not be any hurdle for Belaetrix. Let's see how she performs.

Not much an upset, I think, looking at past result and last few months tournament.

Both are about equal. In fact, their only 1 previous encounter was also won by the Danes

Jiang Yanjiao, from what I've gathered, has been struggling with both her form and fitness for the past 1-2 years. The problem is exacerbated for a CHN player who has to compete not only with her top colleagues but rising youngsters as well. I'm sure LYB or any Head Coach for that matter would be mighty pleased to have as many world class elite players to choose and tap from rather than to depend on 2 or 3 lest unexpected injury adversely affect one or more of them as what has happened to Wang Xin and Wang Lin, not to mention a sudden drop in form for Wang Shixian. It'd be a good thing if LYB could offer her a coaching job, I hope as I do feel for her.

She got R/64 bye as 9th seed, tomorrow she will take on Spaniard Beatriz Corrales ;) Two INA WS were already out and Bellaetrix will find tough R/32 opponent, none but defending champ Wang YH, let's see her performance...

Many seeded pairs in XD have been tumbled today, the highest is MAS Chan PS/Goh LY who lost to KOR Kim KJ/Jung KE.
