Hello Peeps, I was playing with my Brave Sword 9 in a doubles game and my partner's and my racquet kinda collided together and it broke.. I want to buy a new racquet and I think I'd like to stick with the Brave Swords, but I can't really choose between them.. I'm mainly focused on netplay and defense in doubles, but I still smash occasionally when I have to. So, I was wondering whether you guys could give me your opinions on which one I should buy I would rate myself as... mid-ish intermediate level, maybe? Thanks guys!!
11.... love the stiffer shaft and weight but its not too stiff as you can still feel it whip on a stretch, its really fast, comfy to play with and makes me feel I can do more than any other racket I have tried, unfortunately my lack of practice reminds me of my limits!
The 10 is the stiffest but your play style and the racket which you are coming from points towards the 12 as being more suitable
It does sound like the 12 is the obvious choice, but if you want something slightly stiffer, I would recommend the 10. Having used the 10 for a few sessions now, I think I now prefer it over my BSLYD which is slower and head heavier. The LYD has more power for smashes, but it sounds like you prefer the mid/front court play where I think the 10 or 12 would be better. The TW version of the 10 is actually not that stiff, stiffer than the 12 but as it has a thinner shaft, which reduces the stiffness a little it will feel only a touch stiffer. For me, I think the stiffness of the TW BS10 is OK although I usually prefer stiffer racquets, I can still get quite a lot of power from it.
Never had a chance to try BS 10, 11 or 12 before but I'm definitely loving my BS LYD. I chose it as my main, over my other rackets (arc10, Vt80 n Mx London).
If you do want a stiffer BS10 i would go for the KR coded ones as they are mid point balance 3/5 and extra stiff 5/5
Is that true? Of the KRP BS rackets I've seen, all of them seem to have a BP of 295+ which is head heavy. The non-Taiwan versions of the BS10 is 3/5 balance, 5/5 stiffness.
It depends on how i've gripped my BS10, but it's usually at 297mm which I would have classed as mid balance! And yea my BS10 is KR coded my MX london had a 300mm balance point but was DE coded
guys any 5/5 stiffness but 4/5 balance bravesword around? I'm a MX80 user and is keen on both the bravesword 10 or lydn.
Balance Points should be measured "dry" or "bare". In other words, they should have no strings, but with the original grip (and or cellopane wrapping). If you have applied a grip on top of the original grip, that would shift the BP in the head-light direction by perhaps 5-10mm, may be even more. Even so, I personally would not class 297mm as even-balance (mid balance), that would be head heavy in my books.
measured bare, both of my rackets measured at 298mm, i take the original grip off and replace it with a karakal grip as i don't like the original ones. i classify more of the vt70/80's as head heavy and not the BP of the braveswords and my also the cone.
Actually wait I haven't measured the 2 BS I have bare, i'll measure it next time when i'm getting it restrung
what those the extra stiff , stiff, mid flex , flex, extra flex, those correlate on your game guys ???
