For that kind of score, LCW plays with left hand, no smashing and deceptive strokes.

The best idea to make the charity event is to hold an exhibition match between Zhao Jianhua and LCW. Guarantee would gather lots of support and spectators. Match of the century..

gosh. that would be painful to watch. LCW has a 27 inch waist while Zhao Jianhua probably has a 34 inch waist. LCW probably weigh 15 kg lighter than ZJH.

    Chong Wei’s ‘Hope & Smile’ fundraiser a huge $uccess

KUALA LUMPUR: One of the racquets that was used to win the All-England badminton men’s singles title has been sold for a cool RM200,000.

The sale was made yesterday at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara here during the auction of the “Hope & Smile” charity fundraising project organised by two-time champion Lee Chong Wei for the earthquake-tsunami victims in Japan.

Chong Wei donated the two racquets he used en route to winning the All-England for a second time in Birmingham last month together with two shirts and a pair of shoes.

The other racquet was sold for RM85,000 while the shirts had a combined price of RM50,000.

The shoes Chong Wei wore fetched RM24,000.

Earlier, Chong Wei entertained the huge crowd at the charity event by dishing out a delightful performance in an exhibition match against former Olympic and world champion Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia.

Two of the best shuttlers in the world wowed the crowd and the match ended with a 22-20, 21-19, 22-20 victory for Chong Wei.

“I’m happy with this project and I would like to thank my good friend, Taufik, for helping me out,” said the world No. 1.

He added that although the earthquake-tsunami struck Japan on March 11, he was unable to organise the fundraiser earlier because of his involvement in the China Super League.

Meanwhile, the two racquets used by Chong Wei and Taufik for the match were also sold at the auction for RM 84,000.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) president, Datuk Seri Nadzmi Mohd Salleh, was also present to hand over a RM15,000 cheque from funds collected from BAM council members.

Chong Wei will head back to China for his last match in the China League.

His next international tournament is the Super Series in India Open from April 26-May 1.
