22 pengprov backing Mr Gita. Looks like it would set that he will win. Let's hope his intelligence would bring Thomas Cup in 2014.
I find it really ironic that we (at least some INA BCers) prefer businessman over a guy who knows badminton (i.e. ex-athlete) for PBSI chairman... while MAS BCers are longing for the opposite for the BAM boss.
Well, if you know Icuk that well, maybe you will think it is that ironic. Some INA prefer ex badminton player than businessman(myself included) but for me definitely not Icuk. Between Gita and Icuk, I am not sure but I hope Gita has good integrity, at least I think that is better than knowledge of badminton. I sometimes listen to radio RRI interviewing ex badminton player for comment. Some ex-badminton players no longer even know the current players so they are not better to lead PBSI but I do agree that some ex badminton can be better PBSI leader than businessman
source : http://pb-pbsi.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/1244 from this article.. it is informed that there will have Pelatnas for 14-16 years old players. Good.
I am not sure it is good or not. Some clubs have done good job, sending the young players to many junior tournaments. In the past few years, Pelatnas players, junior and senior are not sent to that many tournaments
Guys, is there any info if there will be any changes (drop/split/recruited) of pelatnas player after last olympic failure? So far, only hendra/ahsan and bona/alfiat.
New Indonesian Badminton Assoc. Chief to Inherit Program in Decline Wimbo Satwiko & Sandy Pramuji | September 18, 2012 Whoever is elected as the new chairman of the Indonesian Badminton Association will face the uphill task of revamping development of the sport, which was once the pride of the nation, many observers have agreed. The association, known as PBSI, will hold a convention in Yogyakarta beginning on Thursday, with one item on the meeting’s agenda being the election of a new chairman to replace Djoko Santoso, who opted not to seek a third four-year term. ------------------------------------------------------------- Read more : http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/spor...oc-chief-to-inherit-program-in-decline/545031
There're 2 candidates for new PBSI chief, former World Champion (1983) Icuk Sugiarto and Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan, we'll know soon who will be elected between these two men.
Yup, as this news-article reported yesterday : http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/...er-aims-badminton-association-s-top-post.html
Unfortunately for him but fortunately, in my opinion. Marzuki is the biggest joker. He always said the wrong thing, often did the wrong thing too.
Congrats to Pak Gita, officially elected as the new head of PBSI yesterday, winning 21 - 2 against 'that guy'. Good luck, sir. It's rough and tough way ahead. Ah, apparently, from what I've read, 'that guy' wasn't quite happy about the election method, which was.... well, let's just say it, pretty much "Indonesian style". Better keep the detail off the record.
Yup, Gita Wirjawan elected as PBSI new chief, congratulations! Indonesia's Trade Minister Elected Head of Badminton Association http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/badm...-elected-head-of-badminton-association/545708
