quite a surprise seeing JOJ defeat Dato LCW in rubber games (in this China Open 2 SS). The score in the 1st game is a bit of an eye-opening, 6 pts only for LCW??..Have they met & played against each other before? maybe it's their 1st meeting and Dato LCW was clueless??..or Dato LCW simply didn't have the legs to push through??..

from my vague memory, datuk lcw had played JOJ b4 and it wasn't that long ago. Hmmmmmm, in 2009 sudirman cup and wilson super series. In the wilson SS, lcw beat joj in 3 sets.

What's so surprising? IIRC, He have beaten Park SW & BP before and lost to Taufik in 2009 WC with a very very close margin. He had also beaten Peter Gade in Denmark Open not too long ago.

Definitely, one up and rising star!!!

    ^^I am not surprised..^^

..by his results vs. those players you mentioned. IMO, those players are slightly below LCW's and LD's (and perhaps CJ's & BCL's) levels..
..thank you for recalling they had met before. Btw, in that Swiss Open SS meeting, LCW didn't get 6 pts in any of the games, did he??..

Need more young players like him to continue the strong Danish traditions......
The same holds true for the rest of the European baddy world.

i'm not taking any side of JOJ or lcw. It just showed JOJ is improving as months go by, while lcw it seems more unpredictable as of late. He had a good rest and won the hko, and yet, faltered so fast.

still too early to say remember Chen Long. once you are notice by other players they will study your style of playing and find your weakness or find ways to counter your strong points. eg more people are better in handling LCW now than before. In HK open in the 2nd set PG shift a gear and blown LCW away but being 'old' he cannot maintain that gear and thus suffer in the rubber.
IMO so far only LD can shift gear in and out and maintain playing at higher lever longer than anyone else.

MZ is also busy with his studies so it's hard to accomplish in badminton on top of his studies. Hopefully PG retire and be the Danish coach and guide JOJ to a world championship final!

i think only china player can beat LD ;), as i remember his last lose is to CJ in IO 21-3 and that make out so many arguement why LD lose by only gained 3pts
IMO none can beat LD now..he just like a god of badminton..and i think he deserved it,he trained very hard.really want to see LD play MD,can he be the god?? as MD event doesn't have a dominant pair

JOJ just beat boonsak as well.

I mentioned him about 2 years back. He is definately a Frontliner for the new generation of players.

    @ jug8man

chris might not agree. Defeating BP and PG are no big deal, considering they are no Super Series players by chris's standard.
