Heard Bai Song is playing for Sembawang and the mixed doubles pair is a Japanese/Chinese combo?

Was there on Sunday afternoon and the matches were boring. I wish the order of play was the other way round starting with the men doubles instead.

imho the teams should be allowed to play all 5 matches since quite a number of players travelled all the way from the other end of Singapore and its a pity the players didnt get to play.

No wonder, if my coach plays for them. They have high chance to be among the top teams, even the finalists.

The girl should be our Sunday member. Her skill is much much better than me, just not as powerful as men. ;)

I wasn't there to witness Round 1, but I would similarly be disappointed if they did not play all the 5 matches. I suppose once a team wins, it will stop playing the remaining matches.

It seems the previous requirement that a player must be a resident in the constituency/district to qualify to represent the team is no longer compulsory. So, it must be a free-for-all, with teams trying to 'buy' the best players available. So Sembawang was lucky to 'catch' tank2008's coach, Bai Song.

I wonder which other teams have foreign talents as well?

Yes, brother. Coach Bai does stay at Sembawang. What's your question? Even he stays at other area, he still can represent any other CC, based on new rule. :)

Changi Simei has a number of Indonesians. Believe they play in Yong An Park.

Bai Song and his Japanese partner surprisingly lost in their mixed doubles match against Hougang. The Japanese gal made quite a number of mistakes.

David, do you know a tall Chinese player with a crew cut? He partnered Shafiq in the men doubles match.

The girl is mix of Chinese and Japanese. She is a quite talented player, has played badminton for only 4 years, our Sunday player now, much better skill than me. Her new Victor shoe got issue and toe painful and of course a bit nervous after 1st set.

Syafiq's partner is Huang Chao if I remember correctly, heard from Scanner. I can help confirm this on this Sunday. :)

What's the detail game scores for all 5 matches?

A lot of our players complained the new match sequence. The organizer should put men's doubles first and let young players got chance to play and fight, not old players more exhausted to play every match than young guys.

My suggestion is to play all 5 matches during 1st round. Thus everybody got chance to play. People asked why some of our good players didn't play inter-con. I said it takes almost 2 hours from Yew Tee to Tampines. If can't play a single game and just sit, then come back. It is a waste of time.

Look at those international team event, like Thomas cup, all 5 matches are played during group play. That's better. If those young and powerful guys got no chance to play this year, I doubt they will have passion to attend next year. What a pity! Our Singaporean players lack a good event to improve. ;)

I thought it has to be Li Yujia. Isn't it wonderful for the couple? I wish them well.

Just wonder how Yujia's ex-WD partner is doing. Hope she will be in the family way soon. :)
