Reminder:

On Sunday 25-Dec-2011 (Xmas Day), we are having a break. MSAC is closed for the whole day.

On Sunday 01-Jan-2012 (New Year's Day), we shall be on Court No.11 (12:00noon-2:00pm), not on our usual court at our usual time. MSAC only opens at 12:00 noon.

Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 01-Jan-2012 New Year's Day (A Short Report)

We welcomed 2 new trainees, Stanley-C (who participated) and Laurent-W (who sat and watched). Hope that they have enjoyed with us for their first time.

Sorry to hear that Iris-Z wasn't feeling well. Hope that she would be well next Sunday.

At this CCC CATS, we worked on the Service.

Some comments;
* Trainees were explained the Laws of Badminton (regarding the Service).
* The 'Low Doubles Service' is a precision stroke. Use fewer muscles involved for more accuracy.
* The longer the push, the longer the trajectory.
* Point of impact at as high as it is legal.
* Beware of the radius (the length) of the trajectory.
* The Flick Service is to wrong-foot the receiver.
* The Drive Service is used when the receiver's racket-head is low.
* The High Service is best used for Singles matches.
* Be very alert when doing the Low Service in Singles matches.
* The Middle-T allows you to stay in the middle of receiver's angle of returns.
* In Doubles, after a Low Service, the Server should be in-charged of the Fore-court.
* Grip the handle higher to the racket shaft for better control.
* The Point of Impact further from the throat of the racket gives a longer trajectory.
* Remember the Time Factor is the 4th dimension to the length, the width and the height.
* Serve to just short of the Service Line to cause hesitation.
* Balance with feet shoulders-apart to get the best stability.
* The Shining of the racket-face must be well-controlled by your grip.
* Look at the imaginary target (not at the shuttlecock held).
* etc, etc, ......

* Timothy-T is now used to pushing the shuttlecock (by extending/straightening the elbow).
* Lisa-L requires more work on pushing longer and flater. Also needing a longer follow-through.
* Stanley-C is using too much wrist-work, therefore not as accurate.
* Laurent-W said he would join us at our Wednesday Social Games (on 04-Jan-2012).

Hi CCC CATS trainees,

Please be informed that for our CCC CATS on Sunday 08-Jan-2012, we shall be training at our usual time: from 10:00am to 12:00noon, and on our usual court: Court No.4.

Do always check this info thread regularly. This is because there are so many events happening at MSAC; that we can receive late changes to our CCC CATS Program at the very last moment.

There is a suggestion from helmut telling me that it's best for me to suggest which chapter/topic to teach based on what I find is lacking amongst our trainees.
