Muhd Ulinnuha/Ricky Karanda Suwardi win their 2nd IC title of the year after the Vietnam IC. I think they will be sent to the Vietnam Open GP in August and probably all of the GPG events till the end of the year (Indonesia, Chinese-Taipei, Macau, Korea, and India).
I have question, why are there many korean player here? I think they like to play in Surabaya. They send many players in Walikota Surabaya Cup too. Is there anything that make them interested to play here?
There are many Korean firms setting up factories in Surabaya too. Don't really understand why but in my opinion, Surabaya generally is better than Jakarta area(including the surrounding cities) for manufacturing business. The only other good area is Purwakarta because it is right at the heart of motor industry. So many Japanese and Koreans (or joint venture with locals) factories around Purwakarta too but nothing else there. No major sporting venues too. I am not sure about whether that makes Korean like to play in Surabaya but it is just that many Korean expat there.
Cant believe Desi Hera managed to clinch the title by beating former Kor ws number 1 Bae Seung hee...Where she's been missing all this time with Kim Hi moon as well... Also it's nice to see Lee Jae Jin is here as well former top Kor md with Hwang Ji man...
I asked the same question a while ago to people who are more knowledgeable than me... the answer: Mr. Ferry Steward from Surabaya is very close to people in the Korean Association. He can convince then that there are many benefits in competing in Surabaya...
Overall pretty satisfied with Ina performance here esp Hera and Rizky/Pia who beating top class Kor players along the way to the title.. Although being so close with OG means lack of int'l players but it will be back to normal next year.....
As expected, Alamsyah Yunus won the MS title and he maintains a record of winning at least 1 IC title since 2010. Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo did not disappoint as well as he managed to stretch Alam to 3-sets. 2 runner-ups in IC tourneys this year for him. Muhd Ulinnuha/Ricky Karanda Suwardi also solidify their position as the top pair among the 2nd-team by winning their 2nd IC title this year. They should be promoted to the first-team very soon and hopefully taste some more SS actions by beginning of next year as they continue their climb to the top 30 very soon. Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth/Rizky Amelia Pradipta look to be quite solid too as they continue their climb up the ranking table. They will be ranked in the top 60 in just 6 tourneys. I look forward to see them again in the INA Open GPG and possibly in the Vietnam Open GP, Malaysia IC, and a couple of GPG events in Asia (Chinese-Taipei and Macau perhaps?). A couple of QF finishes and another IC or GP title for them will probably see them being ranked in the top 30 by early next year and Main Round for the Malaysia Open SS in January. That should be their target. It was also surprising to see Hera Desi Ana Rachmawati lifting the WS title, which is her first international title, beating the more experienced Bae Seung Hee. The victory should lift her up to the top 50 and even above her seniors like Lindaweni Fanetri or Adriyanti Firdasari. I think we will also see her and Bellaetrix Manuputty competing in the Vietnam Open GP and the INA GPG next.
maybe bcos most of Korean player have some training in Surabaya. as far as i know there are two Junior Koreans have some trainee in Surabaya
