Your last sentence, that's what he meant - read on sinchew news a few days ago during an interview at Sudirman Cup. He said 3 China players of the top class is already hard enough, now adding one more.

I think what he doesn't mind is: give China 3 or 4 place in a tournament as long as not all of them are of CL/LD level ;p

That's why I called him pathetic on this matter, being a WR1 but afraid of challenges... just want easy battle and easy way to win by wishing for fewer strong opponents' participation and even making comments to deny their entry...

I never heard about any other WR1 players in other sports saying something cowardly like this...

Yes, CW is too straight forward at times :p
We all know he meant no harm but sometimes as we say something
it tends to be misinterpreted

That's just crap. It wasn't cowardly.
Imop he was honestly complaining that LD specifically was given a wild card. I don't think he would've minded an aspiring youngster to be given the chance, but LD had all the opportunities to qualify yet chose not to. In his place, I'd be frustrated as well, as he has taken the time to play the tournaments despite his wife being pregnant, while LD has just taken a vacation. A long one, mind you, not just a couple weeks.
Anyhow. Let's just see how they do when it's time! Hopefully LD and CW won't be able to meet before the SF....

:)Yes, yes, we got it already, you're angry, annoyed, downright PISSED at LCW's complaint on the wild card, MAS team did get a wild card a while back, LCW should not complained in the first place, should not be a coward, SO ON AND SO FORTH............

Respectfully, this is still a LCW's fanpage in this forum. Turn your anger to something else, like MAS awful demise in Sudirman Cup, while the topic's still 'HOT' :D or better yet congratulate and praise Germany for their spirited, excellent performance against MAS team.

Did I mention that my mother LOVES Lin Dan's Gillette ad?

That's a very harsh, strong and unfair condemnation of the man; indeed, of any top player. I don't think he deserves such words.

I guess we all should be able to understand where LCW comes from if we are his true fans. He is so desperate to win a major title and this time might be his best chance yet. He has been consistent in the super series, working ever so hard and his time is running short now. While on the other hand, LD is missing out for so many months and suddenly he got the wild card. We are frustrated as well but then again, LD's participation will only make the competition more attractive. LCW is a very good badminton player which ultimately aims to win as much titles as he can what more the major ones. So it is understandable why he said those words.

As much DLCW once seems to be an immortal player on court, he is still a mortal human being like us. It is obviously expected that his comments will not sound like Mozart to certain ears and being critic for that is something that is already expected. Regardless of whatever statements that he has made in regards with LD issue in the upcoming WC, IMHO, this should not in anyway bring doubt that he still has the character as a respectable individual both as a player and a charitable person that hold a high place in the eyes of the badminton community especially in Malaysia.

I still believe that he WANTS LD to play in this WC and this is because DLCW knows that after this nearly a decade battling with him, part of the fame he has is played hugely from the presence of LD in his badminton life and the fame that LD has as well is also played hugely by DLCW presence. Since the tale of the battle from this 2 most outstanding players is extremely huge, to every great tale, the ending should as well be exciting and it is in this upcoming WC i strongly believe that DLCW wants to win it while LD is there (and it is even better if he can beat him) because that's how he should win the WC, a title earn fit as a fantastic ending.

The BWF might just as well give walkovers to all the players of the host country.
Players of caliber must qualify by merit and not given a free entry, especially in a tournament as prestigious as the World Championship. Where is the motivation for the hard-working players who train and sweat their hearts out to qualify? BWF, please walk the talk.:cool::cool::cool::cool:

You have a point here, for the hard workers ...

but that means no LD-LCW match in this case  :D

Whoever in the last BWF community that turn the decision

to give the wild card to LD

either was thinking of the millions of fans out there

wanting to see another LD-LCW showdown or

simply, he or she adores LD

just like millions of people around the world :D

Very likely LD wild card entry suggestion may have been served on a silver platter to BWF with some commercial consideration?

So far the newly elected BWF President have not made any comments on this since this is quite a political arrangement?

As what jackie mentioned, korea open was one example :)

Another one case here, forgot which year CW playing against LD:

LD took a few more seconds to receive the service

and CW looked at the umpire

(whether he said anything am not too sure)

and the umpire called LD, presumably ask him to get ready faster

and LD pointed at the spectators crowd using his fingers

to show sign like camera light flashing :D

The umpire was dumbfounded and look at the crowd,

silent for a sec or two then ask for the game to continue :D

As for me with that kind of line call

I will make a protest to the umpire

    and accidentally send my racket

flying directly at that linesman :D

Then the medical team will come,

    can't do anything much

so call an ambulance for a stretcher

and the police to investigate :p

    LOL
